Lost

Walking through town, I felt a breeze,
Light enough to free my hair from my body
Then sadness overcame me
Like a wave of water, knocking me down
Then carrying me with it, into its depths

How could something so beautiful be so enchanting?
It's like looking at a fully bloomed flower
looking at it makes one happy
only for it to die, and return to the depths of the earth

Do we all have to go back?
I want to stay, even though nothing is left
and they are all gone
I'm the only one alive

I looked down at my hands
and I realized something
Is there anything in this world that does not lead to false conclusions?

Promises lead to lies: a burden
Life leads to death: a new beginning
Day leads to night: never enough time
Happiness leads to emptiness: nothing to live for

all alone
No one and nothing to confide to
Like a spirit
I disappear into the forest
Leaving the night
and entering the light
