Hello
Summery: Christine was murdered one night walking alone. Erik is crushed, destroyed. His one true loved was killed mercilessly. The last bit of sanity Erik had is gone, nothing is left. Just the empty broken shell of the man he was. The darkest thing I've written. Please review. Songfic based on Hello by Evanscence.
Erik sat in the dark at his piano, pouring his soul into a sad melody. Tears streamed down his unmasked face. "Christine..." He whispered.
Playground school bell rings again
Rain clouds come to play again
Beside him, a shadowy image of a beautiful woman appeared. She had long jet black hair, pale skin, and icy blue eyes. Erik stared in wonder. She looked so much like Christine. But so different. Like a colder, darker Christine. He reached out to put a hand on her cheek, but it just past through, "Christine.." He whimpered. She put a comforting hand on his back, "Has no one told you she's not breathing?" Erik's silent tears turned into sobs as he nodded his head. She rubbed his back, "Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to."
"Hello." Erik whispered. He soon started sobbing again, but he still managed to continue the heartbroken melody on the piano. He started to sing,
"If I smile and don't believe
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream"
Erik continued the steady rhythm but his voice grew angry,
"Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken!"
His sobbing grew louder and he quit playing the piano all together and rested his head in the lap of the dark Christine. She caressed his head, "Hello I am the lie living for you so you can hide." She bent down and placed a kiss on his head, "Don't cry."
The dark Christine disappeared as quick as she came, leaving Erik sobbing and whimpering on the piano bench, rocking back and forth. The only word he could form was Christine. "Christine!" He cried. There was no answer, "Christine! Why did you leave me!" He stood from the piano bench, shaking with tears. He walked to a full length mirror. In it he saw Christine, smiling beautifully at him. He placed a hand on the mirror, "Christine!" Christine raised a delicate hand and waved at him before disappearing, leaving only Erik. Tears stained his deformed, yellowish skin. His sunken glowing eyes were swollen. He screamed and threw a fist against the mirror. Cracks spread across it and shards of glass flew to the ground. Erik looked at his fist, blood was oozing from cuts all over. He smiled, his blood was beautiful. It sparkled. Like rubies.
Erik dropped to his knees, "Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping!"
He looked at the empty frame of the mirror,
"Hello, I'm still here!
All that's left of yesterday!"
His Christine abanded Erik. She did the right thing, He thought, Erik doesn't deserve Christine. Erik doesn't deserve to live..." Erik reached for the biggest and sharpest shard of mirror. With a cry of pain, he shoved the glass as far as he could into his chest. More blood spurted from his chest. He fell to the ground, his head was cut on another shard of glass. A puddle of blood formed around his weak body. Erik smiled, "Like rubies..."
