The fighting wouldn't stop. I had to do something, but what could I do? I had tried talking to them, but that hadn't worked. When I fell to the farplane, I met him. 'Spira hasn't really changed at all. Everyone's still fighting over nothing,' he said. I couldn't help but sense the anger in his voice.
From
underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for
satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are,
we're here tonight
I had hoped that defeating Sin would bring an everlasting calm, but what I forgot was that there would still be man there to start a fight. Why couldn't we all just be happy with the peace that had existed? The world once filled with fear and agony had now been filled with war and lies.
Singing
Amen, I, I'm alive If everyone
cared and nobody cried
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If
everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day
when nobody died
I
can't help but wonder, what would have happened if I hadn't given
that sphere to anyone, and kept it for the Gullwings? What would have
happened if I hadn't chosen any sides? Would it have made it any
easier to persuade them that fighting and killing wasn't the
answer? I guess now I'll never know…
And
I'm singing Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive And in the air the fireflies
Amen I, Amen I, Amen
I, I'm alive
Our only light in
paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them
all to sing along
That's when I decided to sing. I would hold a concert for everyone in Spira. My voice would finally be heard. I gathered so many people into the Thunder Plains that day, and sang. My song touched the hearts of everyone there. I now know that the fighting will never stop, and that the
people there would probably still keep fighting, but at least this time they'd be fighting for what was right, and not for power.
Singing
Amen, I, I'm alive If
everyone cared and nobody cried
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
(I'm alive)
If everyone loved and nobody
lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see
the day when nobody died
I think back to those few minutes, and feel the need to cry. Both mine and Lenne's emotions came pouring out through the song. Her last moments displayed for all to see. They represented what would happen if we let things get out of hand again, but now I don't think it will, for a while at least.
And
as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they
could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be
Shuyin
and Lenne's story is a lesson to be remembered. All he wanted to do
was to save her and stop the fighting. It's almost like every
summoner's journey to Zanarkand was. We would to anything to save
Spira from Sin, even if it meant our lives. It was our love for Spira
that saved it; it was our love for the people, and our love for each
other.
If
everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody
lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see
the day when nobody died
When nobody died...There
will always be fighting, whether it's between two young children
over a toy, or hundreds of grown men over power, things will always
be the same, but maybe one day we'll learn that it's not the only
way to solve things. Hopefully we'll see the light and put aside
our pasts and differences. Maybe someday we'll even see an eternal
peace with no wars, no hate, and maybe even a day where nobody
died.
We'd
see the day, we'd see the day
When
nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody
died
We'd see the day when nobody died
