A/N Just something I wrote really quickly after I annoyed my brother in the same way, hope you enjoy :)
Music to My Ears
The First Marauder
Remus twirled the bottle of firewhiskey in his hands absentmindedly as he waited for Sirius to come and collect it. Remus didn't like firewhiskey and in no way would he ever drink the stuff, not after he woke up with a hangover from drinking only half a bottle of it. Remus looked around hoping to catch sight of the animagus but couldn't find him. Remus glanced down at the bottle and a thought struck him-he might as well have fun while Sirius wasn't there to stop him. The werewolf lifted the bottle to his lips and gently blew across the top. On his second try he managed to produce a low keening sound. Remus did it again-there really was something fun about making that noise. Once more Remus blew gently producing the loud note.
"What was that?" Remus blushed when he realised Sirius was standing in front of him. The dark haired boy seemed very excited about something.
"What was what?" Remus questioned, confused as to what 'what' the other boy was referring to.
"That noise, how'd you do it?" Sirius said gesturing to the bottle in Remus' hand.
"Oh," Remus replied, "you just blow across the top of the bottle."
Sirius grabbed the bottle from Remus and blew across it loudly, little bits of spit flying from his mouth.
Remus laughed. "Not that hard, only gently."
"You could have said that," Sirius grumbled but tried blowing softer against the bottle. The only noise he managed to make was a sort of windy sound. He pouted. "It's not working."
"Try blowing it a different way. I find if you rest your bottom lip on the mouth and place the bottle against your chin, it works. Sirius tried and again didn't succeed. So he tried again. And again. And again. Remus was beginning to get annoyed by the sound.
"Try to make an O with your lips, Pads." Sirius tried that and managed to produce a half way decent noise. "Good, go again." Remus smiled up at the handsome boy. Sirius tried again and after about ten more go's managed to produce the proper noise.
"I did it!" he said excitedly.
"Yeah, well done," Remus complimented. "And you know the less liquid in the bottle the lower the note is." Sirius responded by guzzling half the bottle before blowing across the top again. It only took him three goes to do it. The boy's eyes widened as he heard how the note had changed.
"That's so cool, I'm going to go show Prongs!" Sirius dashed off to the other side of the room and Remus heard the sound faintly from where he was sitting. He grinned to himself and shook his head. Small things amuse small minds, he thought.
Later that night, when only really the sixth and seven years were still awake, Remus regretted that he ever taught Sirius how to play music on a bottle. For three hours now the noise had been going non-stop and Remus didn't think Sirius was going to finish anytime soon. How the boy managed to be so annoying was anyone's bet but the werewolf really hoped he would stop soon, otherwise he might just be tempted to break the bottle over Sirius' handsome head.
