CHAPTER ONE
BONNIE'S P.O.V
I honestly just do not understand people sometimes. Elena, my best friend since forever, has just spent the last few months of her life hunting down an ex vampire boyfriend almost mercilessly to go ahead and kiss his creepy older brother the second she realises Stefan isn't perfect anymore. I just don't understand how she can claim to love him yet kiss Damon.
Stefan has called a meeting at the boarding house and me, being the good little witch I am, almost raced over in my car.
When I reached the boarding house I actually had to take a few breaths to slow down my heart and stop the excited feeling washing over me. It will be the first time I have seen Stefan in months and even though I now know he has had his humanity turned off and, thanks to the constant reminder from Elena, is now a people shredding monster...I am on some level glad to see my friend again. He was my friend, more than I would let on usually, and the only reason I am going into this is because I need to know he is in there somewhere.
The moment I walked into the house I was hit by Elena's body hugging me as if she didn't see me just an hour before, "Bonnie! I am so glad you came."
"See, I told you Elena. Judgy over there couldn't resist the temptation to poke her witchy nose into things!" Damon slurred and I was greeted with the familiar sight of him nursing a glass or bourbon.
"Be nice, brother." A familiar voice taunted Damon and I turned slowly to see Stefan leaning in the corner and felt my heart jump a little as I took in involuntary step forward before I realised I couldn't just launch myself at him for a hug when I am supposed to be wary of him.
"Bonnie, be careful. You know what I told you!" Elena hissed suddenly and I kept my eyes on the man that I wanted so badly to hug and hit at the same time.
"Hey, Stef." I said in a kind of quiet voice and he nodded seriously at me.
"Great, now everyone is here we can begin." Klaus said seemingly stepping out of no where and without thinking I threw him into the wall using my magic and focusing on all my anger of him taking my friend away from us all.
"Easy, witch." Damon said, laying a firm hand on my shoulder.
Thats the thing about Damon Salvatore, even when he annoys the crap out of you, he is loyal. I knew without a doubt if I truly went after Klaus he would have my back, even if it meant defying Elena.
I didn't reply but I did slowly drop my magic when I noticed Elijah stood with another man at his side. I am not ashamed to say I was tempted to set the stranger on fire at his cocky smirk.
"About time someone threw Nik into a wall who wasn't blood." The guy said with a mischievous smirk.
"Allow me to introduce my brother Kol to you Miss Bennett. Kol this is Bonnie Bennett, the town's witch." Elijah said calmly.
"A pleasure." Kol said with a grin to show off a little bit of his lengthening fangs.
"I doubt that." I shot back and crossed my arms defensively in front of my chest.
"Why don't we get down to business? Stefan, here, is under my control and has been assigned protective detail over the lovely Elena. He will kill anyone who tries to aid any escape or cause any unnecessary threat to her life and therefore my blood supply." Klaus said as he stood straight.
"Wow, I think you just hit all new levels of paranoia." I sassed and his eyes turned on me with a deadly look.
"I would mind my tone, if I was you witch, seeing as I still vividly remember you planning and almost completing the end of my existence." Klaus snarled.
"I think its time for us to take our leave, brothers." Elijah said with an air of finality and began to walk away with Klaus next to him.
"Bye, Bonnie." Kol said flirtatiously, without even attempting to hide the fact he was ignoring everyone else, and gave a little wiggle of his eyebrows till he too left.
"Creep." I muttered loud enough for Damon and Stefan to both let out a little snort in amusement and agreement.
