SNOW RAIN ~THE EVENTUAL CONCLUSION~
'Mistress Yagami, time to get up.'
Hayate slowly opened her sleepy eyes. She looked around. She was not in her world of nightmares anymore. Now she had woken up to a brand new morning, the start of yet another day.
'… Eh? W… Where's Vita?' Hayate asked, yawning. The red-haired girl who had been sleeping together with her for the past six months was not on her bed. Hayate let out a sigh of disappointment.
'Don't worry, Mistress Yagami. Vita's sleeping well.'
Hayate turned her head to see who was replying. Standing beside her bed was a six-feet girl, having red eyes and beautiful long, silver hair. She was wearing a close-fitting black suit, the same kind that the Wolkenritter's leader, Signum was wearing under her metal armor.
'W… Who are you?' Hayate stammered in fear. No matter how hard she tried to remember, she still could not recognize who the stranger was.
'Mistress Yagami, I'm the Book of Darkness. I'm the consciousness of the Lost Logia artifact you once owned,' explained the girl.
'B… Book of Darkness…?' Hayate clutched her head. It was in excruciating pain. For some reason, images of her nightmare the last night kept coming back to her memories.
Nanoha and Fate killed her Wolkenritter knights…
She was screaming, pleading Nanoha and Fate to let her go…
Purple flashes, a triangular glow, sparks of lightning…
Black wings, silver hair, golden cross…
'No…! No…!' Hayate cried. 'Vita… Signum… Shamal… Zafira…! No…!'
'Mistress Yagami, don't worry…' the girl went over to give her a warm embrace. 'You're not in your nightmare now. You're in the real world now,' she consoled.
'B… But where's Vita?' Hayate cooled down a little.
'Don't worry, Mistress Yagami, Vita's fine. She'll come back, I promise…' The girl patted Hayate's head.
'Where's Nanoha?' asked Hayate. 'Where's Fate?'
'They're dead now. Don't worry, Mistress Yagami, they're dead.'
'But…' Hayate looked at the calendar on the white wall. The date was 26th December. '… Book of Darkness, what happened when I was asleep?'
'You were attacked by Nanoha and Fate on your way home from the hospital, Mistress Yagami,' said the silver-haired girl. 'And then, your powers awoke and I was born.'
'B… But…'
'No buts, Mistress Yagami,' the Book of Darkness placed her finger on Hayate's lips. 'Now wake up, or else you would get frozen.'
Hayate reached her wheelchair and made her way to the window. She pulled the curtains open.
Outside her house, it was snowing heavily. Everything was totally covered in white. The buildings far away looked like giant ice popsicles. There was no sign of life. The streets, the houses, the parks, there was completely no people around. It seemed as if God had purposefully made everyone disappear, except for Hayate and her Book of Darkness.
Somewhere, in another world, it was completely different. All the things were turned into ruins. Buildings were devastated. Fires were burning everywhere. Corpses lied here and there, but nobody could recognize them. Black mist shrouded the sky. The world here was in total darkness.
Beneath the deep, black ocean, something was shining. It was a shattered piece of red. Its curvature implied that it used to be part of a red, round object. On the piece, there were three glowing pink letters. It read, 'S.O.S.'.
