(A/N: This story is a work of fanfiction and is not a sequel of Lego City Undercover. However, if this gets the creator's attention, then I apologise and remove this, or if it helps in a real sequel, if there is gonna be one)
It had been a whole year since Rex Fury was once again out behind bars and Chase McCain was able to repair his relationship with news reporter Natalia Kowalski. Natalia, a woman whose life Chase McCain accidentally destroyed when they first met 3 years ago.
A brunette at the time, Natalia started having feelings for Chase while waiting for the sheriff of Bluebell National Park, until she testified against Rex Fury, a criminal since the age of 6, when Chase accidentally revealed her name of live TV and was forced into witness protection as a result.
Since then, Chase was transferred to Brick County by Marion Dunby, without authorisation from his old boss, the previous chief now Mayor Gleeson, and Natalia became a paramedic, dyed her hair blonde and then went by Natalia Smith. When Chase came back two years later, upon request of Mayor Gleeson, she was at first unhappy with it until her father was kidnapped by Fury. He was able to regain her trust in letting him rescue her father before he eventually does, stopping Forest Blackwell in the process and Rex Fury sent back to jail.
Despite being Fury's arresting officer, Dunby was demoted back to Deputy due to organising Chase's unauthorised transfer and was replaced by Mayor Gleeson's son, Zach, who was Brick County's finest at the rank of Captain and became Chase's best friend during his time there before he left to return to Lego City. Zach's wife, Melissa, was happy for her husband's transfer as it felt like a new experience for him and their three children. Their oldest, Mike, was about to apply for Brick County's Police Academy and decided to stay behind for it.
Over the whole year, Chase and Natalia were able to put the past behind them and after 5 months, Chase took Natalia to the docks, where they met in person for the first time. They enjoyed a small lunch together before Chase got something out, which was soon grabbed by a seagull and went to chase after it. It took all day, but he managed to get it back, came back to Natalia and showed her it was an engagement ring, resulting in him popping the question. Before he could finish however, Natalia interrupted him with a kiss and accepted.
Chase and old acquaintance Vinnie Pappalardo, who despite finding out his go to guy was an undercover cop still remained friends and received a few days of community service, being a party entertainer and having his restaurant as a birthday place for kids, planned the wedding behind Natalia's back, only telling her father and a few trusted people in the police force. When the day of the wedding came, she was surprised at all that laid beyond her. After tying the knot, they had the reception at Pappalardo's with every cop and friends who attended the wedding, except for Dunby. When it came to the bouquet toss, Ellie Phillips, the maid of honour, accidentally knocked her boyfriend and Chase's best man, Frank Honey, into the ice cream wedding cake as she caught it, resulting in it being an number one online article, called 'Honey Cream.'
At the moment, Chase was on a cruise ship, wearing just white swim shorts, enjoying a glass of lemonade before Natalia soon came up to him, wearing a black bikini. "Hey, is that lemonade?" She asked, as if she was demanding it.
"Uh, yes." He replied before Natalia took it and scowled it down before immediately throwing it away, causing the glass to shatter.
She soon sighed before sitting down, lying next to her husband. "It's been a rough couple of weeks since the wedding."
"I know. I should've packed some seasickness medication for you."
During the two weeks into their honeymoon on the cruise ship, Natalia had been throwing up in the bathroom almost everyday, even over the railing while outside. She was also notably eating more, not eating any meat and touching her stomach secretly. "It's not like that, Chase." She soon sighed before moving her hand to his head to make him look at her. "There's something I need to tell you. I'm-"
"Phone call for Chase McCain." Captain Bluffbeard, an incompetent old sea captain who crashes any ship that he controls, called out through a speaker box, cutting their conversation. "Phone call for Chase McCain."
"Guess that'll have to wait." Chase said as he got up and kissed her cheek before walking away and Natalia looked on, frowning before looking down at her stomach.
In the ship's control room, Chase came up to Bluffbeard as he was on the phone. "Yeah, he's coming over now." He soon held the phone over to Chase, who takes it.
"Hello?"
"Chase, it's Zach." Zach's voice was heard on the other end.
"What is it? Did I forget something?"
"No, we have a problem in Lego City. And I need you back here."
"I'll be there right away." He soon put the phone back onto the receiver and turned to Bluffbeard, who immediately heads over to the helm. "Turn the ship around. I got an assignment." Bluffbeard soon turned the helm to starboard, causing Chase to fall back the moment it did.
Out on the deck, Natalia was relaxing in the chair before the ship immediately turned around by the starboard side, shocking all the passengers, including Natalia, who holds her mouth and stomach as the ship soon moved off in the opposite direction. The moment the ship was heading down the destination they were moving away from, Natalia immediately went over to the port side railing, grabbing hold of the bar and soon heaved out the contents of the early morning breakfast she had. "What is going on?" A passenger asked as Natalia turned around to see Chase coming up to her, a little concerned upon seeing her throw up.
"What happened?" She asked as she slowly recovered.
"I'm needed back in Lego City." He replied. "Something bad has happened there and I need to meet up with Chief Gleeson."
"Well, there is something I need to tell you."
"Can't it wait?"
"Probably. Look, Chase, I know your job is important, but I'm important too. You're gonna need to choose at some point. Do you want to risk losing your life as a cop, or risk losing me your wife?"
"Um, I don't know."
"Cross the bridge when you come to it. And tell me when the time is right."
"I will, Natalia." He gently pulls a strand of hair behind her before she smiled and held his hand before letting go of it. "Now, we better go get changed before we reach the dock."
