Hi again, everyone! I just got the fifth season of CSI, and I simply adored Committed! I'm working on a much longer oneshot, but this popped into my head. I love seeing the unfolding GSR in this season, and I'm totally looking forward to getting season six, when there is actually visual proof of them. At least that's what my Grillows roommate keeps grousing about. LOL. Enough of my rambling. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: Oh, so not mine.

Sara met Grissom's eyes, terrified and trembling against the maniac who was holding a knife to her neck and screaming. Her body was rigid with terror. This couldn't be happening. It couldn't.
Grissom pressed his hand against the glass, trying to instill calm in his terrified underling. The maniac screamed at her again, and he said, "Get the door open."
She closed her eyes for a moment, praying to God that somehow she would make it out of this. Her life couldn't end this way, not after everything she had been through. It wouldn't be fair. She almost laughed bitterly. When had anything in her life ever been fair?
Then she met Grissom's eyes again, and she knew.
Finally the door was opened, and she pulled away from him and ran out the door, down the hall. She could feel Grissom's eyes on her as she rested her head against the wall, but she couldn't look at him. Not yet.
Grissom's legs felt too weak to support him, but he forced them to move until he was just behind her. Then he rested his hand on her back, feeling her shudder beneath his hand. He closed his eyes. "Are you okay?"
She felt and heard herself say the words, but she wasn't. She wasn't. She never had been.

He normally wouldn't have followed her home and come in without her permission, but tonight was different. Tonight he would stay with her, no matter how many times she had told him that she was okay. He kicked his shoes off and locked the door as she stumbled into the bathroom and got into the shower.
She turned the water on as hot as she could stand, then peeled her clothes off and slowly stepped in. Steam immediately filled the stall, and she closed her eyes.
Shedding his jacket, Grissom folded it up and then went into the bathroom. Steam hit him first, and he slowly undressed, then stepped into the stall with her. She didn't seem to notice, and he came up behind her and pulled her into his arms.
She was surprised when he held her to his chest, and she hesitated before she snuggled into him.
He closed his eyes and rested his chin against the top of her head, rubbing her back gently. "Are you okay, Sar?" he whispered, kissing her hair.
She wrapped her arms around him, shaking her head as a tear finally escaped. "No..."
He held her tighter as she finally fell apart in his arms, and he gently buried a hand in her thick hair. "Shh... it's okay, Sara. It's okay."
She clung to him miserably until the water ran cold against their skin. And even then, she refused to move from his arms.
He was safe, a lifeline, and he always would be.
And the storm raged on outside.
The End
A/N: Okay, there it is. For those of you who are just getting introduced to my writing, this is only the first of many oneshots for this ep. I really love writing several shots for each ep, especially shippy eps. I hope everyone enjoyed this, and please remember to review! Thanks for reading!
