Steve was worried and clinging to Bucky.

"Steve it's a child not a monster." Bucky chuckled at Steve's anxiety that seemingly increased as they walked down the hall of the adoption center.

It had been a year since they had gotten married. It came as a shock to both men that it was now legal to marry someone of the same sex; but the didn't intend to let it pass after waiting 70 years. They had been talking about a child but had finally made a decision about a month ago. Their jobs would obviously be a problem but Coulson was obviously open to babysit if needed ("who wouldn't want to baby sit Steve rogers child?" was his excited response)

The two men turned into an office and saw a old woman will a sweet face, she greeted them openly and told them to take a seat.

"hello Barnes family." She smiled warmly "I'm Mrs. Lillian. We've been waiting for you too arrive, we reviewed your files." She moved the yellow folder toward them on the wood desk. Steve was still anxious, and Bucky kept a cold metal hand on his back in reassurance.

"And?" Bucky asked wondering if they had gotten accepted to adopt.

"You have been approved. Would you like to go see the children?" The old woman smiled at the couple. Bucky was excited all ready and Steve has started to calm down when they walk in to see about 6 kids. Mrs. Lillian had introduced Them one by one.

Victor was the oldest at 14 years old, then Rosaline who was 13 and victors younger sister.

Kylee was 11 and had a lisp and a lot of energy

Miler is a 10 year old boy who seems to like sticking around Kylee.

Mike is 6 years old and likes cars and super heroes (and bothering victor)

" 5…" Bucky counted in a whisper "We're missing two." Bucky scans the room.

"I said we only have 6." Lillian seemed plenty confused.

"Steve disappeared somewhere." Bucky pushed his brown locks out of his face and sighed as he saw steve in the corner talking to the youngest. "Who's that?" bucky looks at the old woman who's being talked to by Mike.

"Paris?" The wrinkles on Lillian's face lifted with her eyebrows. "She's the youngest. She's 3."

"is that her name?" Bucky starts to make his way to the wall where it seems Steve is trying to befriend the 3 year old. He makes it over there and crouches to her and Steve's level.

"Hello Paris." Bucky smiles at her and the 3-year-old girl just stares back at him. Her blue eyes were piercing like Steve's and it shocked Bucky a bit. Weren't 3 year olds chatter-boxes? "I'm Bucky. Nice to meet'cha." He holds out his fleshy hand and Paris' small petite ones ever so gently places into his and Bucky shakes her hand softly. Steve watched the interaction with a grin on his face. He notices the white fabric of her dress balled up in her tiny fist.

"Bucky?" Steve looked up at his husband expectantly. Bucky sighed. He had known Steve long enough to know that this is what he wanted. And none of that 'girls are going to be a lot harder to raise' stuff was going to stop him now. And damn his stubbornness.

"Okay Steve. Okay." Bucky rolled his eyes and smiled. Lillian walked over and noticed Paris between the two tall muscular men shaking like a deer in the headlights.

"She usually runs upstairs when adopters come." Lillian smiles at Paris. "Have you made your choice?" Lillian smiled at Steve, then Bucky. Steve nods yes furiously, and Bucky just smiles at his pure joy. Paris looks up at the two and clenches her fist a bit tighter. "Come on darling lets go get your things." Lillian smiles at the toddler and the toddler nods and starts jogging towards the stairs.
