Prologue
It was dark and warm. Why was it so warm?
She didn't know but the moon managed to pull her out. He chased the darkness away and laid her onto the grass with only a few simple words. It was enough to bring her out of the darkness known as unconsciousness.
"You are reborn as Alicia Summers. You are the Spirit of Summer and control heat. Use your powers well" The moon told her and disappeared behind the clouds. It's rays also seemed to hide after that, barely illuminating the area where she lay.
Alicia blinked a few times, her brows furrowing together in confusion. But that's all I know. She thought and swallowed thickly. There was no other memory in her empty mind. It was strange and it left a hollow feeling in her chest.
She pushed herself to a sitting position while looking at the forested area around it. It may have been night but she could clearly make out the luscious green trees and bushes around her, the grass beneath her making her smile unconsciously.
She felt something poke her hand and glanced downwards to find a scepter with a red stone embedded in the wooden base. Alicia picked it up and as soon as she made contact there was a bright flash of light.
As she stepped out of the light, she took in her new appearance and the old rags she wore was gone. She wore a beautiful plain white dress that reached her knees, dim silver patterns on the material but nothing else.
Her skin was tanned and she was barefoot, her feet feeling the live grass beneath them. She had long golden locks that came by her hips and light blue eyes that had an innocence that very little still had.
She smiled at herself and then at the scepter. She knew in the back of her head that she needed to find out whom she was before and that her scepter was going to be her right hand. It was the only things she needed to know.
She watched in amazement as her scepter shifted into a bracelet. It wrapped around her wrist and glowed somewhat along with her hair. She touched the wooden surface and touched the red stone with a faint gleam passing through her eyes.
She looked around once again, taking in a bit more with her newly gained height. Her eyes sparkled as soon as she heard laughter, a thought passing in her mind. Maybe they can help me. started to run but the windswept her up.
She yelped and closed her eyes tight. She expected to fall onto the ground again, the pain expected to hit her body. However, none came. She slowly opened her eyes to see the wind carrying her above the forest.
"Whoa!" She exclaimed and laughed. She flew farther and saw a town. She went for a landing that didn't end so gracefully. She grunted on impact in the soft grass and laughed at herself as she stood up, shaking off the dirt that stuck to her.
She looked around at the children that ran around a fire; the adults talking and laughing. Alicia walked around in the small town. There were about five houses on each side of the road and they were all identical. They had porches and pillars with four steps leading to the front door.
She saw the fire they were dancing around start to die and they were getting cold. Some decided to head back into their houses. "Oh no... Wait maybe I can help" She thought out loud but no-one seemed to notice her.
She walked to the fire and put a hand on the warm wood. It didn't burn her which was somewhat surprising. She concentrated and not long after the fire rose again and she took her hand away. It worked.
She looked at her hand, her shock showing on her expression. She managed to summon a fire. She… She could use magic? It was a first. She turned around to look at the people, not knowing how they would react to what she did.
As soon as Alicia turned around a child ran through her and she gasped. She felt sick and empty as she clutched her stomach. She stumbled a bit backwards, her blue eyes swirling with perplexity. She didn't know what was going on.
"W-what's going on?" She asked.
Her eye caught the moon, but he didn't answer back. He almost seemed to hide behind the clouds and she felt tears form in the corner of her eyes. She clenched her eyes shut, turned away from the town and towards the forest.
She decided to run away, far from the town and the moon...
