I have two projects to finish, three essays to write and a painting to complete but instead i'm writing fanfic. i think i need to organise my time better...
Dumbledore and Merlin meet in the pub. please read and review.
don't own Merlin or Harry potter.
"Here again?" a voice questions. The man smiles slightly in response, raising the drink he's holding up to his lips. He turns slightly to motion that the seat beside him is untaken. "I would ask what's troubling you but we both know you wouldn't answer"
He laughs, "are you really going to criticise me for being enigmatic? I've yet to hear you disclose any secrets."
Merlins companion considers this for a moment, "when you're as old as I, secrets become far less interesting." He hesitates slightly "I assume you heard the news?"
Merlin grimaces. "Who hasn't? It's a sorry business. I heard that it was you who took the boy to his new home?"
"Indeed, though what sort of home it will be we can only guess." They sit drinking in a comfortable silence for a minute or two. "Do you think he's dead?"
"The ministry believes he's gone"
"A diplomatic answer but that wasn't what I asked"
He sighs "I think it would be unwise to underestimate him; Tom has always been good at defying expectations. Honestly? I think this is far from over."
The old man nods. He'd thought much the same but it was different to hear the words from somebody else. "I too fear that this story isn't yet finished. I just wish that so much didn't rest on the child, he deserves to be happy."
"I know. It's unfortunate but destiny doesn't care much for happiness. We just have to hope he's strong enough to take what life will throw at him."
"True, anyway I'm afraid I must bid you farewell, I've a meeting with the minister which is of some importance."
"Of course Albus." He replies as his friend stands up to leave. Merlin turns back to his drink, pondering the situation, it had been a while since he last interfered with the wizarding world but perhaps it was time to get back in the game. Maybe he should keep an eye on Harry Potter.
