Disclaimer: *I walked around and run into Angel*
Me: Holy crap! Angel!
Angel: Hola, chica!
Me: hahahahaha…you called me 'chica…' So what are you doing?
Angel: Oh! Mimi asked me to come and find you and tell you that you don't own her or me or RENT in general!
Me: Darn…thanks anyway, Ang!
Angel: Don't mention it!
*Angel walks away*
Me: She's so adorable!
Overall, I own nothing!
Mimi was absolutely terrified. It was her first day of kindergarten and she had no idea what to do. She didn't know her teacher or anyone there. Her mama told her to relax and makes some friends. But for shy little Mimi, this would be a task.
She walked into the classroom quietly, hoping no one would notice her. She saw pictures hung up on the wall, the letters of the alphabet and the numbers hanging with them. She thought it was nice. Her teacher Ms. Martin had introduced her to the class.
"This is Mimi Marquez. She's a new student here. Say hello to Mimi."
"Hello, Mimi," they all said in a sing-song voice. Mimi smiled and sat down at a desk next to a little Hispanic boy. He wore a huge smile on his face, greeting her happily.
"Hi." he whispered so the teacher wouldn't see him. "I'm Angel."
"Hi…I'm Mimi." He mumbled as he grabbed her hand and shook it politely.
"You have really pretty hair…" he complimented, staring at her curly, dark brown hair. "I wish I had hair like that."
"Angel?" Ms. Martin asked, knowing that he wasn't paying attention. "Were you listening?"
"Yes, Ms. Martin…" he said innocently.
"Then what did I just say?" He looked around the room nervously, hoping that one of his classmates would clue him in…but nothing happened. He just stared up at her pitifully, hoping she'd let him off the hook. "Angel Schunard, do I have to talk to your parents about this?" He quickly shook his head, hoping she'd leave him alone. "Good. Now pay attention."
Class went on for another two hours until the bell had rung, signaling that it was time for recess. Mimi followed Angel over to the back of the room where there was a box of dress-up clothes. She giggled as she found a few silly items, like a fancy dress, a big floppy hat.
"Look at me!" she laughed, spinning around so he could see her outfit.
He laughed and rummaged through the box himself, pulling out a play-wedding dress, putting it on quickly, finding a pair of plastic high heels to go with it.
He spun around to show her, "Well, look at me!" He laughed almost tripping over the heels.
"Those are girls clothes, Angel!" she giggled, staring at his big poofy dress. "You're a boy!"
He took a moment to think before smirking and whispering to her, "Well, let's pretend I'm girl! We can play a game! We can be sisters! Wanna be mi hermana?"
"¡Si!" she giggled at his use of Spanish. She couldn't help but to feel normal around Angel. She didn't feel like the awkward new student anymore. She felt accepted. And she liked it.
"So what do you say?" Angel asked her, holding out his hand, "Amigas?"
She didn't even take a moment before grabbing his hand and shaking it, "Amigas."
A/N: Awww! How cute!
