A.N. A short one-shot about how Sam is always there for Andy. Takes place right after "The One That Got Away".

Traci woke suddenly. She didn't know what woke her but she reached for her cell phone to check the time. To her surprise, instead of showing the time when she flipped the phone open, the screen said "one new text message". She opened the text and saw it had been sent by Sam and just said 'how's she doing?' Smiling, Traci closed the text and checked the time. Three a.m. Sam's text had been sent an hour earlier and she was thankful that she had remembered to turn her phone on silent.

She was really impressed that Sam was checking in on Andy. After watching their interactions for the past few months and hearing Andy's admission of "best mistake of my life" she wondered if she had made the wrong choice by telling Andy to "put Sam Swarek on ice". Sam was there for Andy in ways Luke never had been and never would be. She also knew that Sam was beating himself up inside for not backing Andy when Andy suggested checking the storage bins.

Traci decided that she'd better be truthful so she slipped out of her bed. She quickly peeked in on Leo; her little man was curled up in a ball with a smile on his face. She smiled at the sight and then slipped into the living room.

Andy was tossing and turning. Traci sighed and sat down. She realized Andy was in the midst of a nightmare and touched her shoulder. "Shhh, Andy, I'm right here. You're safe." If she had to guess, the nightmare was probably about the storage locker.

Andy murmured "Sam" in her sleep and then snuggled under the blankets.

Traci watched her friend for a few minutes and then returned to her bedroom. She grabbed her phone and thought carefully for a minute before texting Sam. 'had a nightmare but seems fine. you should tell her, you know? she called out for you in her sleep.'

Let Sam decide what to do with that information. As Andy's friend, she knew Sam would always be there for her, whether physically or not, he would somehow make sure Andy was okay.

A.N. I was debating doing something longer - because does anyone else find it weird that she gets knocked out and no one seems concerned about it? But as I started writing, it got way out of hand - and the title became ridiculous because I actually had Sam come - who knows, maybe I'll use that part in another story.
