I hated sitting around my house, the tv playing some reality show rerun leaking nothing but drama and curse words from my surround sound speakers. "This is all bad news Macy." I leaned over, grabbing the remote control off my coffee table and clicking the off button. "We have three hundred and fifteen channels of nothing but bad news on." I shook my head from side to side. I despised television shows on MTV and VH1, which is all Macy, my high school sweetheart, liked to watch on Sunday afternoons.
"The whole wide world has gone crazy." I placed the remote back down on the glass coffee table. I could tell by the look in Macy's eyes that she was not too happy with my actions as of the moment. "There is so much more we could be doing Babydoll." Babydoll was my nick name for Macy ever since we started dating back when we were fifteen.
"Oh yeah?" Macy raised her eyebrow. "Like what Nick? Tell me. What could we be doing?"
I shrugged and ran my fingers through my curly brown hair. "I don't know Mace. Why don't we just dance or something?"
The expression on Macy's face changed. Her raised brow went down and a small grin formed on her lips. "Dance?"
"Yeah Baby, why don't we just dance?" Her grin made me grin. It was a domino effect.
"Nick, sweetheart, there is no room to dance right here." Macy's arm extended out, grazing it through the air, making a point.
"Well, I guess this itty bitty living room ain't going to look like much.." I thought in my mind of a way to fix the problem. "But if we turn the lights down and move the couch, it will be more than enough." I smiled, standing up and offering my hand to Macy.
Quickly, she grabbed hold of my hand and I pulled her up. "Help me move the couch and coffee table back against the wall." We began pushing the furniture back, thankfully we had hard wood floors, or the job wouldn't have gotten done.
As soon as the living room furniture was out of the way and the lights were dimmed, I grabbed Macy by the waist and pulled her into me, swaying slightly from side to side. "Slow dance, my dear?" I was being cheesy, I know.
"Oh Nicky." She giggled softly. "You have two left feet, you know that?"
"I know Babydoll." I laughed, my attempt at dancing was a failure, even though I was enjoying it so much more than imagined.
We went silent for a little while, our bodies together, our two hearts beating in unison. "Babydoll?" I whispered, my lips near her ear. "Why don't you go put your red dress on?" I loved seeing her in that elegant yet sexy red dress. "And those high heels shoes too." I smiled as I pulled my lips from her ear and kissed the top of her forehead.
"You want me to Nick?" Still swaying together, our bodies entwined in a stance, she looked up at me, her head tilted up slightly.
I kissed her lips softly as I met her gaze. "Well, on second thought, just the way you are is already driving me crazy."
Macy pressed into our kiss, kissing me long and slow before pulling back her lips slowly. "I feel like I'm floating on air Nicky." She whispered, her head now resting on my chest.
I smiled to myself, holding Macy tightly in my arms, never wanting to let her go. "I know Babydoll." I ran my hand down her back slowly with my fingertips and I kissed the top of her head lightly.
Man, I would do anything to dance with this girl every single day.
