Hello Nurse

Reno groaned and opened his eyes. The smell of disinfectant came to his nose then and he sat up a little.
He was in a hospital bed.
As he observed the ordered room, he heard someone approaching in the hallway and soon a nurse appeared.
And when Reno saw her face he felt his breathing slow.
She was beautiful, heavenly even. Long brown hair framed her face and she had the most striking pair of green eyes he'd ever seen. But it wasn't just her physical features that captivated him. There was almost an aura of goodwill that flowed from her.
"Oh, you're awake. Do you remember why you're here?"
"Yeah, I got in a fight at my ex's bar. She was flaunting her newest spiky haired boy toy and I had to break his nose. Unfortunately, he hit back."
The nurse frowned at that and shook her head back and forth.
"You have two broken arms, a broken leg, and a hairline fracture near the base of your skull. It's a miracle you're alive," she stated.
"Well then I'll have to chalk it up to your prayers that I lived, won't I?" Reno said with a smirk. The nurse blushed a little at that as she checked some monitors.
"So how long will I be in here?"
"Six months," she replied. "Did you have anyone you'd like us to call?"
"No, I don't have any family and my friends aren't the hospital visiting type." She nodded at that though the redhead could see the sympathy in her eyes. "What's your name?"
"I'm Aerith and I'll take care of you, don't worry."
"Aerith, nice name. So do I have something to call you or what?" Aerith nodded and handed him a nearby device that had a button on it.
"Press that and I'll be right in," she said. Reno nodded and once Aerith was out of the room he pressed the button with his chin.
At the sight of her scrunched up nose and hard stare, Reno grinned.
"Just testing..."
"It's alright, but remember I can control what food you get so if you don't behave I'll give you nothing but spinach, got it?"
Reno saluted and Aerith giggled, leaving again.
"Six months..." Reno whispered, laying his head back.
With Aerith as his nurse he had a feeling the time would go by swiftly.
The first month passed by swiftly and while Reno didn't mind Aerith feeding him soup, he missed having control of his arms.
The second month went by just as fast and Aerith started to laugh at his jokes.
The third month was when the casts came off and he could start physical therapy.
"Now don't walk too fast Reno," Aerith chided.
"Thanks Mom," Reno said, rolling his eyes.
And once again Reno got a glimpse of that adorable scrunched up nose.
It was fun teasing her, he decided.
The fourth and fifth months saw Reno's skull healing and as they passed the sixth and final month arrived, the days slipping by like sand between a person's fingers.
Until the day when Reno was given a full bill of health.
Aerith walked with him to the automatic doors and tried to keep her eyes free of tears.
"Reno...do you think we could..." but the nurse was cut off as Reno just walked out the automatic doors, not looking back once. Aerith sighed and looked down at the ground, sniffling a little. "I hope you're happy..." she whispered.
"Not yet," Reno's voice came in her ear. "I'd like it if you would go out with me, then I'd be happy."
Aerith looked at him wide eyed for a moment before hugging him, nodding swiftly.
But once they broke apart, her nose scrunched up and she punched Reno lightly in the shoulder.
"You jerk! I don't know why I agreed to date you," Aerith muttered. Reno just smirked at her and wrapped an arm around her neck.
"Because I'm irresistible. Even to pretty little nurses like you."
And then Reno saw something even more cute than her scrunched up nose.
Her face was adorable when it was beet red.
