It was dark in the cell, so very dark. He hated the dark. Legolas could feel himself trembling, it scared him. He never showed signs of weakness, and yet, here he was, terrified and alone.

Alone. Who was he kidding, that was the worst of it. He would have given anything to have Aragorn with him right then and there. His mind screamed in panic when he heard the footsteps; the very sound was enough to make the welts on his back sting. He closed his eyes and tried to quell the fear that welled up inside of him. He knew his once beautiful face was bruised and marred, mottled with cuts. He blinked back tears as the door opened, but his captor merely smiled and chucked someone in.

Aragorn.

His Aragorn. For a moment he couldn't move, then the door was slammed shut and all light was extinguished. He felt someone touch his shoulder and shied away.

"Meleth nin?" a familiar voice asked, so familiar. Legolas gaped in relief and touched the cheek of his love.

"Estel," the word was a mere whisper. The human reached forward and pulled the now trembling elf into his lap.

"Hush, hush, all is well, I am here Legolas, hush…" he said softly. The elf buried his head into the crook of the human's neck, sobbing. The man in question did his best to calm the elf. When he showed no signs of stopping, Aragorn lifted his chin gently. The tears that fell from the elves eyes.

"Y-you still love me?" the elf whimpered softly.

"Of course, Legolas, why wouldn't I?"

"D-d-damaged goods," the elf stuttered. Aragorn tightened his arms around the elf, fury kindling in his heart.

"They did that to you?" The elf merely nodded. Aragorn closed his mouth over the elf's in a gentle kiss. He felt the elf tense and saw the tears in his eyes. He applied a bit more pressure when he felt the elf relax. He ran his tongue over the elf's soft lips, asking for permission to enter. The elf opened hesitantly.

"I will not hurt you, Legolas." The elf shuddered and pulled away, burrowing his head into the mans shoulder, ashamed.

"Legolas," Aragorn commanded, "Legolas, look at me." The elf did, slowly, almost looking terrified. Aragorn would kill the ones who had done this.

"I. Will. Always. Have. You," the man said. The elf nodded.

"I. Will. Never. Hurt. You." The elf nodded again, believing him this time.
