While returning to the main ship after a supply mission, Nico comes under attack from the Black Hole Gang, she evades them, seeking refuge on the planet of Meliv, but with her ship heavily damaged will Nico be able to make it safely back to the others?
Chapter 1
Galaxy Ranger Nico screams as she banks a hard right in her shuttle craft, narrowly avoiding the laser blasts from the Black Hole Gang's battle cruiser, she had been on a simple supply mission, and now the redhead found herself in a fight for her very life.
"Mayday, Mayday, this is Ranger 1, Galaxy Ranger Nico piloting, have come under fire from the Black Hole Gang and attempting to elude, transmitting coordinates to Galaxy Ranger HQ and Galaxy Ranger main ship-,"
Suddenly an explosion at the rear of the shuttle knocked out Nico's communication array and severely damaged the shuttle's engines an stabilizers, causing the shuttle to roll and go into a tailspin.
As the shuttle fell rapidly, Nico kept calm,using her psychic powers to slow her descent into an unknown planet's atmosphere, hoping that McCross and the rest of the Black Hole Gang wouldn't pursue her down here, Nico also hopes that the damage done to the shuttle isn't too extensive,
Once Nico was through the atmosphere, she dropped her psychic shield around the shuttle and attempted to fire up the disabled engine, but it was useless and Nico slammed into the ground hard, knocking herself out in the process,
"Hey, wake up girlie, you all right?" a female voice said,
Nico opens her eyes and looks around, noticing that she wasn't on board the shuttle anymore, but in a bedroom.
"W-where am I and w-who are you?" Nico asked hoarsely,
"You're on the planet Meliv, and you're on my homestead, I'm Sally Gross, but everybody just calls me Snake Eyes," the alien woman drawls,
"H-how long have I been unconscious, Sally?" Nico inquired.
"Just two hours, I found ya out by the Narlas River, your ship was pretty banged up too, but I managed to tow it back here and put it in my barn."
Nico breathed a sigh of relief, both she and her shuttle were safe...for now,
"You must be famished, girlie, I'll grab some vitals for ya,"
"Thank you, Ms. Gross, I am eternally grateful." Nico said.
"Don't mention it girlie, you just get healed up for me, kay?"
"Okay." replied the redhead,
Sally soon returned with some food for Nico, which she eagerly devoured, once she had eaten Nico let Sally change her bandages.
Once her bandages were changed, Nico and Sally walked out onto Sally's front porch and looked out over the impressive expanse of land that teemed with horses and Space Cattle.
"It's really beautiful here, Sally," Nico says softly.
That's why I moved here when I retired three years ago, " Sally explained,
What did you do for a living, Sally? "
"I was a Sheriff for the town of Blood Valley for twelve years,"
