Home: The places in which one's domestic affections are centred.
Grissom pulled up in the Crime lab car park, got out and stretched. It was a long flight home from Williamstown.
-Home- he thought.
He'd never really had a home since he left his mother to go to college. He'd had places; houses, apartments, but never somewhere to be considered home.
Until Sara of course. He never thought he would become so used to her being there: in their bed, in their house, in their home. And now, he missed her so much it hurt.
When he was away, he went to bed every night for four weeks, expecting to be there beside him warming it up, and he woke every morning expecting her to be there, curled up against him.
He missed her brilliant brown eyes- so full of love and laughter; he missed the way she smiled, bright and wide at him especially if he was talking to his roaches again. Hell! He even missed her icy cold feet seeking warmth on his legs as she slept silently.
He came to the lab knowing she'd be here, not at home. He knew they had to work some things out, but he needed to see her. These past four weeks had been the longest four weeks of his life.
He entered the building intending to hide out in his office and hope that she would walk past or something- he really didn't want to talk to anyone else at the minute. Grissom managed to succeed in this task, and looked out the window of his office in search of his lady.
Sara was lost in thought when she heard her name being called. She looked up and instantly locked gazes with her boss and boyfriend. His ocean blue eyes sparkling with happiness. His mouth was tilted into a smile and he looked so much younger than when he left. (Even with that thing growing on his face)
He motioned for her to enter his office, she followed and he closed the door behind her and shut the blinds. Sara didn't wait a second before she flung her arms around his neck.
"I missed you so much", she confessed.
His arms wound around her waist and he went to rest his head on her shoulder. Sara pulled back a little, her big eyes shinning with unshed tears.
"You abandoned me, for four weeks, you don't call or write", she said while planting soft kisses all over his face and her tears flowing freely now, "You send me a bug-on-a-stick, with no explanation" she lightly kissed his lips, "and we still need to talk and work some things out", she kissed him again, "but…at the minute…I don't care…" she punctuated each word with a kiss, "your home"
Then she finally kissed him soundly and let his tongue dance with hers,
-Home- he thought again
–This is where I belong- they broke apart and just held each other.
-This is my Home-
