Prompt:Alternate Universe. Write a 100 or 500-word drabble featuring our favorite characters in a different setting, or switch canon around to see what would have happened had things turned out differently, i.e. Voldemort winning the Second War.
I wrote about Sirius as a DE during the Longbottoms torture. The trick was for the character you're writing about to stay in character. I hope that this doesn't suck. Love.
Penitence
They had not broken under his cruciatus curse.
His curse was not nearly as strong as it could have-no should have-been.
"Weak" She calls him, pushing him aside to inflict the most damage possible.
Red light pours from her wand as the red blood they share courses through his veins.
"Crucio!"
Their screams infect his mind silencing all his thoughts.
"Crucio!"
A baby's cry sounds his hearing.
"Stop!" he screams out inaudibly. "Leave them be! They know nothing!"
No one listens.
His hands tremble. His dark mark fades.
They were telling the truth: He was gone.
"What have I done?"
