No one can drink like the like the Irish, fighting was like a form of art. Jimmy Olsen mused as he downed yet another pint of green beer. Much like their music which played loudly in this pseudo Irish pub in downtown Metropolis.
He doesn't really know her real name, or at least he won't admit that he does. She goes by Grainnuale named for the pirate queen of the Connamara Coast.
She's was on assignment with Gerry Adams, who was trying to garner support for Sinn Fein, and the current cease fire between the IRA and Loyalist parties.
"Hiya spicy spice." he said smiling as she sat down beside him.
"What." she said her voice full of mirth.
"That's your new nickname, cause your spicy like the Spice Girls." she just shook her head. Jimmy signaled to the bartender and ordered another pint, while she ordered a Guinness.
Then made a face when their drinks arrived.
"What?" She pointed at his beer
"Why is your beer green?" he shrugged "It's St Patrick's day and it's a tradition here in America." She eyed him dubiously "To drink green beer." She sips her drink "You can't be fecking serious."
"Yep." he then snorted "Don't you have green beer in Ireland."
She takes another sip of her Guinness "Nope." He can't stop laughing
"Why not, everything else is." he quipped. She just snorted, at his comment.
"Come out ye black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man"he began to sing. She looked around the bar.
"Are ya mad." now it was his turn to snort.
"Nope, and it's not like we're in one of those loyalist pubs and I'll get my arse kicked." he looked at her still laughing "That's what you say Arrrse." she continued laughing
"Yes that's how you say it."
"Aren't you impressed by my knowledge of rebel songs."
She smiled and smacked him on the back
"Fecking, Amadan" Jimmy sipped his beer, the corner of his mouth twitching.
"That means fucking fool right."
"Yeah"
"Well if I'm such a fucking fool, I'm going do something foolish." she rolled her eyes
"And what would that be?" He leaned over and kissed her on the mouth.
"That" she smiled "Well, that's pretty foolish." leaning forward her mouth dangerously close to his.
"Then again, I like a foolish man" she said against his lips, before kissing him back.
