OK. After writing Shizuru's Nightmare, another evil genius-y idea came to me. It starts almost the same way as Shizuru's Nightmare, but the end is different ;). Oh, and I know it's short, it's meant to be. Here it is, hope you like it ;).

Shizuru sat up. She was sweating, her heart beating quickly. She glanced at the clock 2:09 AM. She took some deep breaths to calm herself after the amazing dream, the lump next to her stirred.

"Shiz…uru…you…ok?" The sleepy voice asked.

"Yes, thank you, I just need some water, go back to sleep." Shizuru replied, though the last comment was unnecessary, her beloved was already snoring once more.

Quietly, she rose and entered the bathroom. After splashing her face with cold water, she looked into the mirror. Her red eyes stared back at her, sharp and calculating. As she stood there, her dream flashed before her again; and she shivered.

She returned to bed, and wrapped her arms around her beloved. She lay awake, the dream playing in her head over and over. Finally, a small tear managed to escape her, and slid down her cheek. The tear was somehow both of gladness and sadness at once.

Her beloved slept on. She lay awake all night pondering her dream, and wishing the lump next to her would awaken and comfort her, though she knew it was false hope.

Finally, she drifted back to sleep, and back to the dream.

The next morning, Shizuru woke up to find she was alone. She rose, and made herself some tea. She sipped it quietly. The dream kept coming back to her. She decided to tell someone, but whom?

She couldn't tell her beloved, she given up breaking hearts long ago. Finally she decided on her most trusted confidante; her pet snake Kiyohime, who would never tell anyone.

"Kiyohime, I had a wonderful dream last night." She began, "I was married to the most beautiful person." She was quiet for a moment as she pondered this. "Yes; the most beautiful person." She decided.

She took a deep breath, before continuing, "Kiyohime, I was married to the most beautiful person, and I was happy." A tear slid down her cheek. She reached over to the nightstand, and turned down the picture of her, and her husband. "Her name was, Natsuki."
