Lumos In The Wind
(a "CANDLE IN THE WIND" tribute to Headmaster Albus Dumbledore)
Goodbye Dumble-dore, though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While all those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
As you whispered into their brain
They set you on a pedestal
And you made them praise your name.
And it seems to me that you lived your life
Like a Lumos in the wind
Never knowing who to plot with when the Dark set in
And I would have liked to kill you
But I was just a kid
Your Lumos ran out long before your scheming ever did
True Power was tough, the toughest role you ever played
War created a superstar
And a curse was the price you paid
Even when you died, all the press still hounded you
But all the Quibbler had to say
Was that lemon drops weren't food.
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a Lumos in the wind
Never knowing who to plot with when the Dark set in
And I would have liked to kill you
But I was just a kid
Your Lumos ran out long before your scheming ever did
Goodbye Dumble-dore, though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While all those around you crawled
Goodbye Dumble-dore, from the young man in the Slytherin row
Who sees you as something more than Psycho
More than just our Master's Foe.
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a Lumos in the wind
Never knowing who to plot with when the Dark set in
And I would have liked to kill you
But I was just a kid
Your Lumos ran out long before your scheming ever did
Your Lumos ran out long before your scheming ever did
