Elena and Stefan had been going at it for the past twenty minutes. Arguing back and forth that is.
It had started out as a group meeting with everyone, including Elijah, sitting down trying to work out how they were going to go about killing Klaus. It seemed that everyone had been fine with Elijah being there. Everyone but Stefan that is.
The Argument had started when Stefan asked why Elijah was even there after his earlier betrayal. Elena replied telling Stefan that Elijah had good reason and that we should just be glad he is here and helping us now. Stefan wouldn't have it, and the screaming began.
Elijah sat quietly observing the couple's argument. The only reason he had not left yet was because he didn't want to leave Elena alone in the room with Stefan. Elijah didn't trust Stefan one bit. He knew the young vampire was slightly unstable.
When the group realised they weren't going to get anywhere tonight, they left. Caroline, Bonnie and Jeremy were the first ones to leave. Alaric and Damon followed soon after. That left Elijah, Stefan and Elena.
"We can trust him! I know we can!" Elena cried at Stefan.
"No Elena! We can't! He is manipulative, impulsive and untrustworthy!" He screamed back.
"And what? You're any different?" She yelled at him.
"As a matter of fact, I am! You are just a naive little girl if you think he won't betray you!" Stefan spat.
"He is an honourable man Stefan! He lives by his word! That is way more than what I can say about you." Elena spat back.
Elijah smirked slightly at her comment about him. She knew him better then anyone.
"Oh, so now im the untrustworthy one?" Stefan said coldly.
"Ugh! You are impossible! All im trying to say is that we can trust him!" Elena screamed.
"You are not listening Elena! He will just betray you and hand you off to Klaus as soon as he can!" Stefan argued.
"No Stefan! He won't! You know, sometimes I wonder why I even bother." She said in defeat.
"Bother with what? Us? Because lately I've been thinking the exact same thing!" He yelled at her.
"Why? Because im taking his side? Because he doesn't treat me like im a fragile little girl? Because he trusts me to make my own decisions? Or is it because you're Jealous? Jealous that I am spending time with him? Or jealous that I trust him more than I trust you." Elena said.
It was true, she trusted Elijah more than anyone. Even more than Stefan.
Rage filled Stefan. How dare she say that? He thought to himself.
As soon as Stefan made the slightest movement towards Elena, Elijah was standing in between them. He sent Stefan a cold stare as a warning to not advance any further towards Elena.
"You are just like her. You are just like Katherine." Stefan spat at her.
Elena recoiled as if she had been hit. That was a low blow and he knew it.
She could feel the tears well up in her eyes. Shaking her head she backed towards the door.
"I think we should take a break. This relationship obviously isn't working right now. Goodbye Stefan." Elena whispered brokenly, before heading out the door-.
Elijah sped to stand right in front of Stefan.
"You are going to be sorry for this." He said threateningly, before following Elena out to her car.
