AHH! THERE WE GO!

No, This Is Better.

A Wandering, Deceitful Soul

-By (Guess Who!?)

The winter night was unbearably cold. I had just finished bringing a large stack of firewood up to my home in Hyrule Castle. I carried the wood up to my room, where my wife, Zelda was already asleep in my bed.

She had been sick for a while with a bad case of pneumonia. The doctor told her to stay in bed, and not get up until she felt strong enough. I didn't trust his advice, though. Zelda became weaker by sitting in that bed. She lost a lot of weight, and since she was a tiny girl to begin with, it didn't help her too much.

Zelda sleepily opened one eye as she arose from her slumber. "Gfd Mrning…" she mumbled to me before she drifted off to sleep again.

" 'Good morning?' It's 5:00 at night, Zelda, I just got home," I told her.

"Mmmhmm…" Zelda softly muttered, sinking deeper into the pillow.

I set the wood down near the fireplace, and climbed on the bed. "Feel any better?" I asked Zelda as I stroked her up and down the arm.

Zelda let out a small groan of dissatisfaction. "Noooo…" She sighed. "Link, I don't want to be sick anymore," and she buried her face in my chest.

A twinge of sorrow passed through my heart. Here I was, sitting on my bed, knowing my wife was ill and not being able to do anything about it. She had been taking different kinds of medicines left and right, and nothing seemed to be working. The doctor's suggestion for her to stay in bed wasn't working either. I didn't know if she was ever going to get better. Now that she told me she didn't want to feel sick anymore, well, it really tugged at my heart.

"Zel, I wish I could make it go away, but…" I started to say.

Zelda sniffled a bit and said, "I know you can't," as a tear rolled down her cheek.

I pulled her in closer, and kissed her forehead. "You'll be better soon, I promise."

She let out another large sigh. "I love you, Link."

"I love you too, darling."

The darkening sky outside diminished whatever light had even slightly lit up the room. I pulled the covers snugger around Zelda's tiny form. She seemed to already be sleeping again. At that moment, I suddenly felt very tired. When the last bit of consciousness left my body, I drifted off to sleep.

Don't forget….i ALWAYS WIN! More of this shee-hot lizzater. The rating's gonna go up eventurally…HA HA
