It was unusually hot that day. I remember because my clothes were soaked in sweat, even though I wore nothing but my black shorts. The sun shone brightly, warming the asphalt underneath my feet, making it unbearable to walk there without any sandals. I was by the park, music played softly from the jukebox of a nearby café, and little children dragged their parents along to get ice cream and coke from a stand by the sandbox. I had always wondered why it was a sandbox in the park. To me, it was just in the way, annoying, just as the kids playing there. They made the usually silent park turn into a noisy place, especially if the ice cream stand was up. But this day, I learned to appreciate and love it.
"MOMMY! ICE CREAM!" A five year old girl demanded, dragging her mom over to the stand. I chuckled a little at it. Shikamaru was right, kids are troublesome. I decided to get an ice-cream cone myself, as a small award for several hours of jogging. While standing by the stand, trying to decide whether to buy chocolate or vanilla, something, or rather someone, extraordinary caught my eye.
Dressed in a pink top and very short black shorts, the lovely pinkette, yes, her hair was pink, was covered in sweat from jogging. She had an iPod plugged in her ears and seemed to be completely lost in the training, moving with the rhythm of the music. She looked so gorgeous that I lost my mind for a second. Then a fat man in the 40's started complaining about me not being able to decide what to get, and I, unfortunately, snapped back to reality. "Hn. I'll have a strawberry cone then." I mumbled, before I realized what I just had bought. I practically hated strawberries, they tasted completely awful, and strawberry ice cream was even worse. But before I could complain, the cone was shoved into my hand and the money I had placed on the counter had vanished. Damn it… I cursed inwardly before I left the stand and went to find somewhere to sit, if I was quick, then I might see that girl again…
