Block 3

Freedom

The sun sets—

The hunt is on

You catch her scent

But she is already gone.

You continue to search

For what is not yours

It is a lost cause—

Yet you continue to hope.

You are drawn to her by nature

A moth to a flame

You cannot deny her—

Yet you only bring her pain.

She has spread her wings—

Flown away

Before you can clip her down

And claim her as your own.

She is with the sea now—

Untouched by all

As free as the birds—

That skim the salty waves.

She is finally at peace—

Free as she has longed to be

Entwined with the man who stole her heart—

The one who finally set her free.
