"Derek! Derek!" Spencer fell to his knees. "You can't just leave me like this! Derek!" Spencer sat in the rain, having run out of his apartment after his lover. The tears mixed with the rain.

Lately they had been fighting over everything; the kind of pizza to order, what movie to watch, the way Spencer washed his hair, literally everything. Spencer had hoped it would resolve itself, but instead it took a turn for the worse, and Derek had walked out on Spencer, and left him standing cold, wet, and crying in the rain.

After what seemed like forever Spencer managed to gather the strength to gather himself up and go back to his apartment. Spencer spent what was left of the evening cleaning up the dinner mess, and just generally tidying up. Spencer sat on the couch and turned on the TV and movie that he and Derek were going to watch. Spencer sat on the sofa and pulled his knees up to his chest, trying to cover the hole in his chest that was fast growing. It had been nearly three hours since Derek had walked out. And those three hours were the most painful he had ever endured.

Knock, knock.

Spencer raised his head off of his knees. Did he really want to answer the door? Was the effort worth it? Spencer decided that he wouldn't know if it was worth it until he opened the door.

Knock, knock. The person at the door was obviously getting agitated, because the knocking became louder and more persistent. Spencer opened the door slowly, and saw Derek standing there.

"Baby, Spencer. I know there isn't anything I can say to make this right. And I have to right to ask for your forgiveness. But baby I love you more than anything, and I can't stand that I hurt you, and I can't stand to be without you." Derek said exasperatedly.

Spencer felt hot tears trickle down his cheeks, as he buried his face in Derek's chest, clutching to him. Derek wrapped his strong arms around his younger lovers' waist, and lifted him into his arms. Derek shut the door behind them.

"I thought you weren't going to come back." Spencer muttered against Derek's neck.

"I will always come back for you." Derek said as he laid them on Spencer's bed.

Spencer clung to him the rest of the night. "Spencer, I will always love you, and I will always come back." Derek promised. Even though it was a promise he knew he couldn't keep.
