Deep within the lands of Zaron, a level 13 Amazonian warrior named Roselia walked through the land on her way to report to her ally, the Elf king. The humans had possession of the Stick of Truth and the accursed Wizard King was too weak to defend it. According to a carrier raven that had been shot down recently, the Wizard King had gorged himself on fried pheasant and was affected by a stomach ailment.

"The Stick of Truth will belong to the Drow Elves soon enough." Roselia whispered. As she approached the Elven Forest, she saw that her path was blocked by a green-cloaked figure. "Can I help you, Viajero?"

The figure glared at her as he unsheathed dual daggers. "I am no traveler, Amazon. I am Ronin, level 14 Thief with a +5 Celtic Rune boost. Ya shall not pass an' th' Elves shall not take th' Stick."

Roselia notched an arrow and pointed it at the human Thief. "I have heard of you, Ronin. Your mother was an Elven warrior and your father the Captain of the Wizard King's Guard. You showed no allegiance for many years. Why now?"

Ronin frowned. "When the Elves learned that my mother had married a human, they had her banished from space and time."

Roselia lowered her bow slightly. "Y tu padre?"

Ronin rolled his eyes. "Father was given a few acres o' land fer bein' brave enough t' nail a dirty Elf. At least tha's what th' King said. T' be fair, I find tha' disgustin'." The Thief twirled his knives in his hands. "But enough banter. Prepare t' fall, Amazon." He rushed forward. Roselia let an arrow fly, but Ronin deflected it.

"+6 Agility, Amazon." He grinned as he slashed with his knives. But the Amazon jumped out of the way and nailed Ronin in the back with two arrows. Growling angrily, the Thief tossed a handful of snow into Roselia's eyes. When the Amazon recovered her sight, the Thief was gone.

"You can't disappear like that, Ladrón! That's cheating!" Roselia shouted. Suddenly, she felt cold steel on her throat.

"There's no such thing as honor amongst thieves." Ronin whispered in her ear coldly.

Roselia took a deep breath. "Finish it then, Thief. Complete your mission. But know this. The Wizard King is a pendejo. He will betray you. You should be fighting for the Elves. We are the true heroes of Zaron. Fight for your Mamá's memory."

"I would never fight for those who banished my mother from Space and Time!" Ronin hissed.

"Did the Wizard King tell you that as well? I'll let you in on a secret: Only the Wizard King banishes from Space and Time. The Elf King would never do something so rash."

"You lie!" the Thief spat. Suddenly, Roselia knocked the knife from the Thief's hand and flipped him onto his back.

"And you got distracted, Ronin. Go. Report back to your king. Tell him the Elves come for the Stick." Roselia leaned in close. "Oh, and tell your girthy Wizard King that Roselia of the Amazons is coming to set free her betrothed."

"Betrothed?" Ronin asked.

"Did you think your mother wants you to marry Princess Kenny?" Roselia grinned, then disappeared into the forest, leaving the Thief confused.

"Women and their riddles."
