Thank you all for reading my story, I'll have you know that this story is very different form any other that I have written so far. Most of the time I sit down and write my ideas in a notebook, this time I just typed it out and submitted it. This is what I plan to do for all or most of the chapters, which is why they are going to be a bit shorter than I would like them.
This story is going to focus on Anakin and Padme and what they would be going through if this had happened instead. I have add one character and she is mine. I do not claim to own any part of Star Wars, however. Again I thank you for reading this, please review.

Padme closed her eyes and listened to the noises around her, suddenly C-3PO stepped up to her.

"My Lady, there's a Jedi fighter docking on the veranda"

Padme's eyes flashed open and she rushed to the veranda, "Anakin! Are you alright? I heard there was an attack on the Jedi Temple, you can see the smoke from here"

Anakin smiled softly, "I'm fine. I'm fine. I came to see if you and the baby are safe.

"We're safe, what's happening"

"The situation is not good. The Jedi have tried to overthrow the Republic," Anakin looked closely at Padme who frowned in confusion and disbelief.

"I can't believe that"

Anakin frowned at his memories "I saw Master Windu attempt to assassinate the Chancellor myself"

"Anakin, what are you going to do"

Anakin turned away from Padme and looked down, "I will not betray the Republic, my loyalties lie with the Chancellor and with the Senate," Anakin looked back at Padme, "and with you"

Padme tried to search Anakin's eyes, "What about Obi-Wan"

"I don't know, many Jedi have been killed. We can only hope that he's remained loyal to the Chancellor"

Tears choked Padme, "Anakin, I'm afraid"

Pulling Padme to him, Anakin rested his head on her's, "Have faith, my love. Everything will soon be set right. The Chancellor has given me a very important mission. I'm going to end the war. Wait for me until I return, things will be different, I promise"

Gently Anakin leaned down and kissed Padme, "Please, wait for me"

"I will," Padme whispered.

Choking more tears Padme watched Anakin leave, wishing she had asked him were he was going.

Obi-Wan's thoughts surged as he stepped on to Padme Amidala's veranda. He immediately sensed something wrong, a sadness surrounded Padme as she confidently walked over to him.

"Padme, I'm looking for Anakin. When was the last time you saw him?" Obi-Wan tried to keep his emotions at bay but it was harder than he had thought it would be.

Padme looked confused for a second, than answered, "Yesterday"

"Do you know where he is now"

"No," Padme looked very worried.

"Are you sure?" Obi-Wan asked, "He is in grave danger"

"From the Sith"

Blinking away tears Obi-Wan shook his head, "He is a Sith now, he is in danger from himself"

"You're wrong!" Padme shouted and Obi-Wan could feel the love, fear and disbelief shut from Padme. "How could you even say that"

"I have seen a security hologram of him killing younglings." It was hard for Obi-Wan to believe it himself but he had seen it.

Tears started to flow down Padme's face, "Not Anakin! He couldn't"

"He was deceived by a lie." Obi-Wan explained, "We all were. It appears that the Chancellor is behind everything, including the war. Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. After the death of Count Dooku, Anakin became his new apprentice"

Padme shook her head, "I don't believe you, I can't"

"I know, Padme, it is hard to believe evil of ones you love"

Looking up sharply Padme found sympathy in Obi-Wan's eyes, "I have to see it for myself." She pleaded.

Obi-Wan shook his head, "You don't want to see it, Padme"

"I have to," her eyes held determination and Obi-Wan knew she would see it one way or another.

Obi-Wan nodded, "I will take you to the temple"

Padme only nodded.
