The last few nights had been dark and cold.
It didn't help that the heater was broken and Deidara was hogging the covers. Poor Sasori sat up, shivering. He whispered softly to Deidara, not wanting to upset his partner. "Hey, Dei, give me some covers,"
Deidara responded with what seemed like a grunt, but rolled over and set some on Sasori.
This didn't help much, since about 2 minutes later, the covers were ripped off of Sasori again.
The puppet master sighed, and stood up. He looked out the window at the bright moon. Oddly, the moon had a red tint to it. The light from the moon reflected against Sasori's brown eyes.
Deidara snored. A lot. Sasori was used to it by now, so it didn't bother him.
The puppet master stood and stepped over and sat on the bed. He touched Deidara's toes, which were sticking out of the end of the blanket. Deidara shivered slightly, then settled back down.
Even Sasori was freezing.
Suddenly, Deidara flung up right in the bed and shivered, arms around him. "W-W-What's the temp, y-yeah?" he stuttered, his teeth chattering.
Sasori looked at the thermometer near the window. "10 below." He said solemnly.
Deidara's eye lit up lightly. "I have a different way to stay warm, yeah, Sasori-danna." He said, reaching out and pulling Sasori gently to him. To survive cold nights, they snuggled up together.
Sasori refused most of the time, but this time he gave in.
Deidara shivered for another hour; with no help from the blanket, just the warmth and closeness of Sasori.
After a while, Deidara fell asleep in Sasori's arms. Sasori finally looked down at his partner's closed eyes. He bent over and kissed Deidara's forehead.
Deidara flinched slightly.
Sasori smiled. He gently set his partner down on the bed again. Deidara's arms were still wrapped around Sasori, so the puppet master slept close to his partner.
Before Sasori fell asleep, he thought, "We'll never have to fix the heater again."
Deidara woke up in Sasori's arms. He felt warm there, so he stayed for another 15 minutes without moving until Sasori woke up.
Sasori looked into Deidara's eyes. "We'll never be cold again." They said in unison, snuggling close to keep the warmth in. Sasori and Deidara had grown so close intimately and strongly, the love they had would keep them warm… Forever.
