Damon sat at the bar at the Grill, drinking Scotch. He was in a foul mood. Sure he could have staid home and drank there but he had opted for getting his angry and depressed self out of the Salvatore Mansion. It could have also been the fact that Stefan and Elena were somewhere in the Mansion all lovey dovey that had made him get out. His reaction could have seemed cold and heartless and even though he was happy for his younger brother, it was undeniable that he was envious of what Stefan had. Stefan and Elena were happy and in love, something Damon hadn't known in a long time.

He took a sip from his glass and without even shifting his attention away from his glass picked up on a conversation between 3 girls at a table nearby.

"It's beautiful isn't it"? said one of the girls.

"Wow, it looks old. What kind of gem is that?", replied one of the girls.

"I don't know, it's milky colored".

"Where did you buy it"? asked the third.

"I didn't. I found it".

Damon turned his head in their direction out of curiosity. He blinked a couple of times as he looked at the object of their discussion. There resting on the girl's ring finger was a beautiful ring. It was simple yet elegant. A single band with small diamonds on each side of a light pinkish colored quartz stone and more diamonds around it. He continued staring at it in disbelief.

'No, it can't be', he thought to himself. 'But what if it was'? He finished his glass in one gulp and stood from the bar. He walked over to the table where the three girls were sitting.

He smiled at the gear bearing the ring. "Wow, now that is a very beautiful ring you've got there".

The girl beamed upon his compliment. "Thank you".

"Where did you find it"? he asked still smiling at her.

The girl frowned. "Finders keepers", she said to him.

He pinched his lips and cocked his head to the side. "That's not what I asked. I asked you where you found it".

"Leave me alone", said the girl.

"Yeah leave her alone you creep", said one of the other girls.

Seeing he wasn't going to get the information he wanted from her in the classic way, he slightly bent over and looked at her eyes.

"You're going to tell me where you found that ring and you're going to give it to me. Then you are going to forget you ever had it", he said as he compelled her.

"I found it a mile out North of the old Lockwood property. Here, I think you should have it". The girl removed the ring from her finger and placed it in Damon's open palm.

"Thank you". He then turned to the two other girls and compelled them to forget about the ring and that he was ever there talking to them.

He walked outside and opened his hand. He picked the ring up and looked at it. He felt his breathing accelerate as he tilted it and looked inside the band. His eyes opened wide as he saw the small initials LS engraved. He closed his hand tightly around the ring and closed his eyes. He put the ring in his pocket and set out towards the old Lockwood property.

Elena sat in the sofa reading a book. Stefan joined her.

"Where's Damon", he asked.

Elena looked up from her book. "Out. He left an hour ago".

"Probably up to no good, as usual", said Stefan as he put his arm around her.

"You're probably right. He didn't look as if he was in a good mood when he left".

Stefan frowned. "He's been in a bad mood for a while now. And knowing him, his bad mood often leads to him making it his objective to do stupid things and seduce poor innocent girls".

"Do we really need to talk about Damon"? asked Elena.

"No, you're right. Let's focus on something else", he said smiling.

"Like what"? she asked. "Do enlighten me".

He leaned in and stopped short of her lips. "Oh, I could think of a few other things we could put our mind to". He softly placed his lips on hers and pulled her in closer as he kissed her. When he pulled back, he knew he wanted her. "Let's take this upstairs", he said smiling as he stood. She, in turn stood and followed him as he took her hand and headed upstairs to his bedroom.

Damon walked around. 'A mile North of the property', he thought to himself. That was just like finding a needle in a hay stack. The property was huge and a mile North meant covering a lot of ground. Luckily for him, he was a vampire and could use his supernatural speed to cover as much as he could quickly. He didn't know what he was looking for. Maybe he would find nothing, it could have been a long shot but he had to try. Even if it was just a sign, he knew when he would come upon it. Fifteen minutes into his unsuccessful search, he come up to a clearing in the woods. He sighed, it didn't make sense. Why would the girl have found the ring here? He was about to give up, thinking he was losing his mind, when he noticed something afar. At first it simply looked like a pile of leaves but as he got closer he slowly could make out a shape.

A couple of feet away his eyes opened up wide. "No.. "! He sped over to the shape and knelt next to it. He brushed the leaves away, then the hair away from the face. He picked the limp body up in his arms and cradled it as he sped over to the mansion.

Within minutes he was inside the mansion and had cautiously placed, the one that he had carried, on his bed. He looked at her, this beautiful, limp, pale unconscious woman and took a step back in disbelief. He returned to the bed and caressed her face, hoping to get a reaction out of her but he didn't.

"Stefan"! he yelled after his brother.

Stefan removed himself from Elena. She looked at him. "What is it"?

"It's Damon".

"So? Let him be. He's probably drunk".

"Stefan! You need to get in here and now"! they heard Damon yelling again.

Stefan stood from the bed.

"Where are you going"?

Stefan looked at Elena. "Something's wrong".

Elena shrugged. "There's always something wrong when it comes to Damon".

Stefan shook his head. "No, this is different. I can hear it in his voice. He's panicked, scared and"…

"And what"? asked Elena.

"I could be wrong, but I'd say, sad".

Stefan walked towards the door of his room and Elena trailed behind him. When they reached Damon's room door, he was pacing in front of it.

Both Elena and Stefan were taken aback as they looked at him. He seemed in utter distress and there were tears in his eyes.

"Damon, what is it"? asked Stefan stepping inside the room.

Damon couldn't speak. He simply looked at Stefan and then took a step to the side revealing his bed. Elena rolled her eyes. It was obvious that Damon's seduction and greedy desire to drink human blood had struck again.

Stefan looked at the bed. He gasped and took a step back. He then looked at Damon in disbelief. "Oh my God. It's Livia"!
