Quistis' Trip

"Don't wait around for your life to happen to you. Find something that makes you happy, and do it. Because everything else is all just background noise."

George Mason, 24

Quistis had left Balamb Garden hours earlier at Dawn. She couldn't wait to leave. Frankly she was tired of it everything. Tired of her life, tired of the emptiness within it, the boredom of routine, tired of being stuck in the same place everyday and tired of being alone and hurt.

So instead of just waiting for something different to happen to her she took action. No one else knew that she had planned to resign. Quistis had made the decision to leave secretly because she didn't want anyone stopping her or trying to change her mind. She had accepted a job as the advisor to the new leader of Galbadia, the elected president Phoenix Williams. The new president was female, a first in the history of Galbadia.

Quistis had been offered the job just weeks ago. She had not told anyone about it but had accepted just 24 hours after the job offer.

"Won't they all be surprised?" She said out loud. "Predictable Quistis Trepe running off without telling anyone. How wrong they were."

She switched on the CD player in her jeep and listened to her favorite song.

Omnipresent phrase in my mind

Spoken words I've said one million times

Who are you to tell me

It'll always be this way

I close my eyes

And I turn around

And leave it all behind

It felt like she had promised herself that she would leave a million times already. But never did she have the courage to actually just pack up and go. It felt incredible just to leave everything behind.

So free for the moment

Lost somewhere between the earth and the sky

So free for the moment

Lost because I wanna be lost

Don't try to find me

Always try breeze through my life

Repetitious things I've done one million times

Who are you to tell me

That I'll always be this way

I close my eyes

And I turn around

And leave it all behind

Everyday Quistis had suffered through the monotony of her everyday routine. Somewhere inside it had been killing her. Lacking any particular goals in life she had grown restless.

What could I do

It's not such a terrible thing

What would you do

It's not such a terrible thing

She had always thought that her life would always be in the garden. She would live and die a warrior, fighting for glory and honour. But she had grown bored with that too.

"Hyne I'm glad I left."

So free for the moment

Lost somewhere between the earth and the sky

So free for the moment

Lost because I wanna be lost

So free for the moment

Lost somewhere between the earth and the sky

So free for the moment

Lost because I wanna be lost

Don't try to find me

"Don't try to find me Squall. I ain't coming back." She said with a determined heart. "Deling City here I come."

Authors Note: I am planning on writing Quistis' journey over several fics. Please stay tuned. There's more to come.
