I decided to make this into a crossover story with "The Secret Circle." I hope you like it. I'll delete the other crossover, soon.
Hey, everyone. I edited some stuff, so it's a little different that what I originally had in mind. I took some of the girls out and put one in. This story takes place shortly after the shooting in season 4 of Degrassi: TNG and after season 1 of The Secret Circle. I do NOT own anything, but the storyline. My story will be a little different from my other ones.
Follow me on twitter or Instagram if you are a fan of my stories. My username for Instagram is SeanEmma4ever and my twitter is SeanEmma4ever, so please follow me on twitter and Instagram and I will accept, but you have to let me know that you're a fan of my stories somehow.
Summary: What if your darkest secret wasn't your own? Emma Nelson and Cassie Blake were born by Spike Nelson and Amelia Blake, respectfully. The two were best friends, until Amelia left Canada with Cassie and moved all over the place. Spike hasn't heard from Amelia in years. Now, Cassie Blake is living in Chance Harbor, while Emma lives in Toronto. When Emma needs help, she unintentionally finds herself in Chance Harbor Washington. Little does she know, the town has a lot of secrets. Will Cassie and her friends be able to help her? What secrets does Emma have? Will Sean come back from Wasaga and discover that Emma has changed?
NOTE: Cassie and Emma aren't 6 years apart in this story. I know that Emma was born in 1989 in TNG of Degrassi, while Cassie was 16 in "The Secret Circle," but in this story they are around the same age.

Emma's POV:
I remember when everything in my life was simple and didn't have to worry about any drama like I do now. I remember my former best friend, Cassie Blake, when we used to hangout all the time. Cassie and I were living in Canada at the time. It was shortly before I attended Degrassi when I was 12-back then the school was a Jr. high and high school at the same time. Cassie was like my younger sister because her mom, Amelia, met my mom, Christine "Spike" Nelson, sometime after high school.
Cassie and I would hangout a lot before she moved away to Washington. My mom hasn't heard from Amelia since the day they left...
Flashback:
"I wish you didn't have to go." I said, about to cry as my "younger sister" put her stuff in the car. Her mom was talking to my mom before they hugged, then they turned to us. "Emma, say goodbye to Cassie." Amelia said, as I shook my head, not wanting to.
"I know. I'll be fine, Em. Don't worry." She smiled sadly, before we hugged. "Hopefully, I'll see you again one day." I smiled a little bit, before she got in the car and they drove away...
Back to the present.
"Emma, are you okay?" My best friend, Manuela "Manny" Santos asked, waving her hand in front of my face during class. I almost didn't hear her since she was whispering. I met her a couple of years before I met Cassie and we've been best friends since daycare. I told her about my friendship with Cassie and she helped me after Cassie left Toronto. I still don't know why she left, but I'm still curious about it from time to time.
"I'm fine. Just thinking."
"Sean, I assume?" I blushed when she brought up my first boyfriend. Sean Cameron and I met in 7th grade and I've liked him since the day he walked into Simpson's Media Immersions class. He moved here from Wasaga after getting into a fight with Tyler which resulting in the latter being temporarily deaf and Sean moving here. According to Tracker, Sean's older brother, I've been a good influence on him. Sean and I had a horrible, but funny, first date. I had to change clothes because a bird pooped on me and Sean was digging in the trash for me after I thought I lost my wallet.
We broke up after he got into a fight with Jimmy that caused him to accidentally shove me to the ground. I broke up with him the next day and then we got back together at my mom's wedding-which is where we kissed for the first time-but broke up again because he was friends with Jason Hogart, Alex Nunez, Alex's friend, Amy and Towerz who were also know around school as the Candy Banditz gang. Simpson had cancer around that time and due to that, Sean and I weren't able to hangout as much and as a result, Sean started hanging out with Jay and his gang. He's been dating Ellie Nash since they were in detention together. Meanwhile, I was single.
"Now, I am. Thanks, Manny." I said, as she laughed silently, before we turned to the teacher. Manny and I both worked on our assignments until the bell rang. We walked out of class and saw Jay looking at me. I glared at him, still mad about him breaking Sean and I up.
"Em, are you okay?" Manny asked, as I nodded. "Just wish I never let him walk away from us."
"Come on. We'll sit outside for lunch." We walked outside and started eating when we sat down at the picnic table in front of the school. I spotted Degrassi's bad boy, Jay Hogart, walk towards us. I ignored him, but he kept on looking at me. "Aww...Is Greenpeace upset about Cameron moving away?" I glared at him. "No. I'm happy if he is." I said, trying to hide my pain and regret. "I doubt that highly."
I stood up, crossed my arms and said, "Back off, Hogart. I'm done with your shit." He scoffed and walked away before I sat down and continued eating. When the bell rang, we walked back inside the school.
Once inside the classroom, Manny and I sat down. Jay came in the room, but I ignored him.
"I don't think Sean is happy at all, Em. He was mad after everyone started calling him a hero." Manny said, as I nodded. I remembered that happening before we left for Wasaga.
"He was really upset when he decided to stay in Wasaga." I told her, sadly, before class started. "He will be more upset when he finds out that you hooked up with Jay at the Ravine, but he still loves you." Manny said as we got our stuff and walked out of the room.
I scoffed. "I doubt that. If he finds out, he will never talk to me again. I guess I'll have to tell him the next time I see him." I sighed as we walked out of the room and into the hallway.
"You can't keep it from him forever." She said as I nodded and walked out of the school. "Do you need a ride?" Jay asked from behind me. "No. I don't." After minutes of arguing, I accepted a ride from him. "I'm still mad at you." I said, remembering the time Jay and I hooked up. "I'm really sorry about that."
"Whatever. It's partly my fault anyways since I didn't stop myself from going to the Ravine."
"Technically, Rick is the one who's to blame because if he didn't do what he did, starting with Terri and ending with the shooting, then none of this would have happened." Jay said, looking at me for a brief moment before he turned back to the road.
I didn't say anything for the rest of the ride home. I grabbed my bag and got out of the car, before I walked towards the house. "Em, I need to talk to you." My mom said, as I nodded and took off my bag before I sat down on the couch. "Ok. What's up?"
"Cassie called me. She's been going through a lot. Her parents and her grandmother died. She's all alone in her house, so I was thinking that maybe you would like to visit her for awhile?"
I nodded, "I would, but what about Degrassi?" Snake came in the room at that time. "I think it would be best to get you away from Toronto because of recent events."
"Mom, I can't leave my friends or Degrassi. If I did, then Rick would win more than he already has: he shot Jimmy, injured Sean and made him leave because it was too traumatic for him. I can't let that happen, so I'm staying here." I said, and crossed my arms.
"Em, I think it will be a good experience for you. We aren't trying to upset you, but we are trying to help you get your life back together. The shooting has had an extreme effect on you, which is why you kept on sneaking out doing God knows what at 2 in the morning. Sean is dealing with it and I think you need to as well, especially after what you witnessed that day." Snake said, as I shook my head and looked at them.
"I'm not leaving, especially since Sean is still in Wasaga. What would happen if I left and he comes back? He would be worried." I said, as they looked at me, sadly. "We don't want you to leave, but you need to get away from Degrassi for a bit." I sighed, before asking them, "When are we leaving?"
"Em, I'm afraid that you will be the only one going. I would have to give the school a two week notice, but I think you'll be fine. Cassie will help you out." Snake asked with regret in his voice.
"When am I leaving?"
I was standing at my locker, extremely tired since I didn't get enough sleep last night. I stayed awake after I fought with my parents over it for an hour. I remember all of the breakups, makeups, fights, Jay and his gang, Rick and the shooting. Everything. I was so tired, I overslept, but it doesn't matter because this is the last time I'll be at Degrassi for God knows how long. I didn't want to leave, because that would be giving Rick satisfaction that he won. I didn't want to let that happen, but I didn't have a choice.
I barely noticed when my friends showed up. "Hey, Em." Manny said, before she noticed my empty locker and a box of my notebooks and school supplies in my hands. "What's going on?" JT asked, as I looked at them. "Nothing." Suddenly everyone's eyes were focused on some new students that just came in the room. I recognized one of them. "Emma!" The blond girl in the center said. It was Cassie.
We hugged. "It's been so long." She nodded before she saw my other friends behind us. "Guys, this is my distant friend, Cassie Blake. I've known her since we were little before she moved with her mom."
"Before she died." Cassie said, emotionless. I looked at her in shock. "No way! What happened?"
"Fire at our old house. Both of my parents are dead along with my grandmother. The only family I have left is Diana-she's my half sister-but she left town shortly after finding out our father slept with her mother 2 weeks after I was born."
"Damn. Talk about major drama." She nodded, sadly.
"Cassie, this is Manny Santos, JT York, Liberty Van Zandt." I said, looking at each of them. "This is Adam Conant, Melissa Glaser and Faye Chamberlain." She said, as I nodded.
Jay walked up to us. "Well, well, well. What do we have here, Greenpeace."
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up Hogart." I said, giving him a glare.
"Damn. You weren't that mean a couple of weeks ago."
"Maybe because I thought you had changed, but you're still an asshole." I turned and was walked away, but not before I said, "I'm jealous of all the people who haven't met you when you are being an ass." Then, I walked away from him as the bell rang.
I quickly showed Cassie, Adam, Melissa and Faye their lockers and classes after they got their stuff when they came back from the principal's office. I was so excited to have Cassie Blake back in my life because we were best friends before she moved, but little did I know is that things would change forever.
