Disclaimer: I don't own Elphie, Galinda or Wicked. If I did, there would be much snogging, some shagging, and possibly a pair or two of handcuffs thrown in for good measure.
A/N: This is my first Wicked fic, and my first fic in several years. Please R&R, concrit greatly appreciated as well as general opinion.

The door to room twenty-two of Crage Hall opens, causing the green girl who had been immersed in a biochemistry textbook seconds earlier to look up, to see her blonde roommate enter, dressed in a slightly subdued light blue sundress as opposed to her typical dress code of excessive amounts of pink, lace and frill.
Despite the seeming heaps of differences between them, Elphaba Thropp and Galinda Upland were quickly finding out that they not only enjoyed each other's company, but actually looked forward to it.
Over the course of the last few weeks, the intense and utter loathing the two felt towards each other had been steadily shifting into other, much warmer emotions.
Galinda had taken to returning to the dorm earlier, choosing to use her brain more in hopes of impressing 'her Elphie,' instead of going to parties with Pfannee and ShenShen chasing boys. She also found her thoughts drifting more and more toward her green roommate instead of Fiyero, even when the Winkie Prince was standing no more than two feet from her.
Elphaba, in similar fashion, found herself unable to focus on her reading, fondly remembering the way Galinda's witty, almost sarcastic, intelligence was showing itself more and more, even outside of the privacy of their room, instilling a new and interesting kind of respect for the blonde girl.
Each girl noticed the butterflies that developed in her stomach when the other was near, fantasizing different scenarios of kissing and cuddling, respectively. Galinda found herself wanting more than anything to feel Elphie's lips on her own, softly kissing as she caressed the soft emerald skin, running her fingers through the long raven hair.
Elphaba was especially having issues at night, while Galinda would be peacefully sleeping and snoring adorably (though she'd never admit it). Her insomnia was making more frequent appearances of late, and the green girl wanted nothing more in the world than to hold her blonde friend through the night. Somehow, Elphaba had the distinct feeling that if she could go to bed every night with Galinda in her arms, she would never suffer from the nightmares she had nearly every night, nor the resulting insomnia. No, she didn't think there would be a more peaceful night of sleep imaginable.
As Galinda enters the room, her deep blue eyes immediately lock with Elphaba's chocolate brown, each girl suddenly having a hundred things to say to the other.
"Elphie-""Galinda-" they say simultaneously, before blushing slightly. They seem to recognize something in the other's unwavering gaze, something affectionate and possibly…hopeful?
Elphaba gives the blonde a shy smile, before continuing, having gained a miniscule amount of courage, "I think we should talk…"
As Galinda comes to sit on Elphaba's bed so they can talk, each girl can't help but think, maybe…just maybe.
