Marinette sat at her desk, sketching a new t-shirt design. She thrummed the pencil eraser against her bottom lip as she looked over it again. She would only need a couple yards of black cloth and some green and white accents to-

THUD

Marinette let out a squeal and the sudden sound made her topple off of her chair. She leapt to her feet and paused to listen for another sound. There. Some scuffling against the roof. The roof? Marinette's first thought was burglars, and her heart began to race.

Her trap door creaked open and Marinette glanced around for a weapon. She leapt forward and snatched the scissors off of her sewing desk before rolling under her bed and waiting.

Someone dropped to the bed above Marinette and she clutched the scissors in a trembling hand.

Why did Tiki have to choose to go visit Master Fu today?

Oddly shaped black boots thumped down the ladder, and Marinette jumped out from her hiding place, her scissors thrust out protectively before her.

There was a shout, and the scissors were knocked out of Marinette's hands. She yelped and spun away, but strong hands gripped her shoulders.

"Hey! It's okay!"

Marinette paused as she recognized the speaker. "Chat Noir?"

Chat was grinning, his hands still clasping her shoulders. "Sorry, Marinette. I didn't mean to scare you."

Marinette stepped out of his grasp and put her hands on her hips. "And you thought you could just barge in here? I thought you were a burglar!" Marinette took a deep breath. "What are you doing here Chat Noir?" She hadn't even known that he knew her as a civilian.

Chat raised an eyebrow. "What? You aren't going to swoon from being in my heroic presence?"

Marinette rolled her eyes. "No. I'm not."

Chat looked taken aback for a second, before he flashed me another grin. "Listen Mari. I need your help with something."
