Chamomile
Genma had noticed that Shizune looked more exhausted than usual. Bags were under her eyes and he could she hasn't been eating properly probably because of her work schedule as of late. He also knows that she hasn't been sleeping well the past two weeks. She waved it off and said she'd be fine, but he felt her weight disappear from the mattress in the middle of the night when Shizune started her day only because she couldn't sleep. Genma was just worried.
Having gotten home earlier than most days, he knew Shizune wouldn't be until
another hour or so. He then remembered about a tea that Iruka told him that can help people sleep. Upon remembering, Genma started searching through the various teas Shizune possessed as she was an avid tea drinker, having several cups a day. Finding the tea, Genma began to heat up some water as Shizune walked through the door, stumbling towards the bathroom for a shower, but not without a mumbled "hello".
Genma just finished preparing the tea as Shizune returned several moments later, already dressed for bed. He handed her the tea and she gave him a questioning look.
"Chamomile tea. It's supposed to help you sleep. I thought you might like it."
Smiling and giving a small thanks, Shizune accepted the tea and drank it slowly as Genma went to go prepare himself for bed. Once she was finished, Shizune rinsed out the cup and brushed her teeth before entering the couple's shared bedroom. Genma flashed her a smile as she walked in and went straight for the bed.
"Liked the tea?" He asked, pulling back the blankets to climb into bed next to his girlfriend, pulling the blanket above them both.
"Mhm." Shizune replied quietly, nodding her head against the pillow. Exhaustion overcame her and sleep was calling her as her eyes threatened to close. "So tired..."
Without a word, Genma pulled Shizune closer to him, wrapping his arm around her small waist, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "I love you, 'Zune. Sweet dreams."
Mumbling a reply as she drifted off to sleep, Shizune slept peacefully for the first time in weeks.
