"Kowalski!" Skipper yelled out and headed for the door to the lab. Right before Skipper got to reach for the handle, the door violently swung open. Kowalski emerged from the smoke covered room, coughing. "Kowalski! Are you OK? What happened?" Private asked. Kowalski waved a cloud of smoke away from his face. "YeOh, yeahipper cutted him off like that, but Skipper was right. They had to leave right now. "If you go in there, I'd wait a few minutes..." Kowalski told Rico, then followed Private and Skipper out of the habitat. "Oh, yeah." Skipper said as he poked his head in, "Don't blow up the place, OK?" "Aw, man..." Rico playfully responded, which made Skipper chuckle a little then he left, leaving Rico all by himself.
Rico let out a deep sigh. he didn't know what to do now. Sure, he could watch a little bit of television til they got back, but it was 2:46 PM. Nothing worth watching around that time. Plus, it would be a little weird for him just to simply grab the remote without having to fight over what channel to watch. He let out another deep sigh, then turned his head and saw his doll sitting in the corner of the room. He stared at her blankly. Should he do something with her? Should he brush her hair? No, wait... he already did that earlier... Maybe they could have a romantic dinner together? Oh, yeah... they had one last week and he wasn't feeling very romantic right now.
He walked up to her and stared into her soulless eyes. "So..." he said, trying to start some small talk. He knew that she couldn't respond, he just thought a one-sided conversation would kill time, or give him some sort of idea of what to do. "Uh... this... weather..." He shyly brought up. Thoses blue eyes and smile were starting to make him a little uncomfortable. He wondered if the others felt this way when they were around her... if they did, it didn't really matter to him. She was the one who could comfort him the right way. He knew Skipper and the others tried their best to cheer him up when he was upset, but there was something missing, he couldn't explain it though.
He sat down next to his doll and cuddled with her. He felt his eyelids were starting to get heavy. He wasn't sure if it was because he was tired or if it was because he was bored. He didn't care though, he just let them lower, didn't fight them at all. Seconds later, he was fast asleep in the corner with his doll, wings wrapped around her.
