Wonderballs

Today I'm going out to play
With colored balls of green and blue
Jungle gyms, leaping off the swings
Bruising knees with black and blue
I can pretend to be anybody
A pirate or even you, how bout now?

School time, bell rings at half past nine
No more playing as the teacher's shout
I'm sure that math is such a bore
Balls packed, put away and out

I can pretend to be anybody

A soldier or even you, how bout now?

And all the years we learn to walk we're finding
That all the paths we crawl and stand are winding
There are so many things that I would

Like to learn to do

Can you teach me how?

I'm a baby
You're gonna be the one to raise me
And let me fall
A pit of wonder balls

Today I'm going out to play

With colored balls of pink and green

Swing sets, tossing balls through the nets

Hidings spots where we can't be seen
I can pretend to be anybody

A sailor or even you, how bout now?

And all the years we learn to talk we're finding
That all the days we cry and scream we're trying
There are so many things that I would

Like to say to you

Can you teach me now?

I was a baby
You were the only one who raised me
And let me fall
A pit of wonder balls

I was a baby
You did the best you could to save me
And let me fall
A pit of wonderballs
