This is my first fanfic.

Constructive criticism is always helpful. :)

She lied.

She knows it's wrong, but lying made everything so much easier. It didn't hurt anyone...but her and no one would mind. Mind that she was playing dumb, mind that she hid all her emotions and her true self behind this mask that she wears to keep everyone from knowing the real her, the girl behind the stupid comments, the REAL Brittany S. Pierce.

They thought she didn't understand, that she wasn't fully there, that she was just the epitome of a dumb blonde, which she wasn't but it was good that they thoughts so. She couldn't let anyone see past her wall of lies. She couldn't let them find out how she really got those brusies on her arm, she was perfectly fine with telling them that she fell down the stairs because she tripped on her shoelace since she "Never learned how to tie her shoes." or telling them that she got that scratch on her face because she tried to pick up an abandoned cat on the street and it didn't turn out to be so friendly.

They couldn't know the real her.

They couldn't know that she cried herself to sleep everynight, they couldn't know that her parents hated her with a burning passion. No. They couldn't know anything, they couldn't know how her parents would abuse her mentally and physically everyday or how she was raped by her uncle when she was 13. Everything was locked away from everyone and no one could know. NO ONE.

What would they think? They would probably hate her for lying to them all this time or they would probably pity her and see her as nothing more than the girl with a sucky life. She couldn't have that, no. She wouldn't allow that.

Sometimes she wishes could just stop it all, erase all the bad times and just forget everything. Start fresh ,but she knew it wouldn't happen no matter how many times she closed her eyes and wished. Everything would be the same when her eyes opened.

She remembers when she spent a whole week at Santana's house because she had been too afraid to go home but she couldn't tell Santana that even if she was her bestfriend. She simply lied and said that there was scary noises in her room at night.

Once she was hit so hard that she passed out. Her parents sent her to the emergency room and told the doctors that she had tripped and hit her head hard against the corner of the table counter.

At times she stays up at night wondering what she ever did wrong to deserve this. The answers never seem to come and she thinks they never will.
