Not too many Cassie/Adam shippers on FFN? That's kinda upsetting. Anyway, this is AU, as always. I don't own the Secret Circle and I never, ever will. If you do ship Cassie/Adam and want to see my YouTube video dedicated to the couple, PM me. Thoughts are in italics.

They were so different, yet so alike. Cassie and Adam. Adam and Cassie. Their names sounded so perfect together. Why did she even love this boy? She really had no answer to that question. They had grown up in completely different situations. His parents were gone and she still had her mother. He grew up with Magic, she hadn't. They were so drawn to each other at first sight, more than they'd like to admit. She thought he'd looked odd at first but then she saw his eyes and she just knew there was something more to him. Something you couldn't see on the surface.

When had she become so deep? She shook her head. Thoughts of Adam always did this to her. She felt as if she were in a daze. But when she was with Adam, things were clearer than ever. Cassie was quite confused. What exactly did it mean? They were soulmates. She knew that. But, why? Why were they soulmates? Cassie sighed. Everthing was so confusing.

Cassie pushed the covers off of her and got up out her bed. She decided that today she would see Adam. She hadn't seen him in a week because he went to North Carolina for a vacation with his grandmother. She understood and she wished that she could take a vacation too. Cassie knew that Diana had always liked Adam, but Adam didn't return her feelings. And when Adam took an interest in Cassie, Diana was jealous to say the least. Cassie never knew how stressful it would be to date the guy your best friend liked. Cassie felt like she betrayed Diana. Diana knew they were soulmates, but that didn't change her feelings. Who could blame her? Adam was handsome and sweet and the nicest boy Cassie had ever met.

And there Cassie was again, lost in her thoughts. She shook her head.

Come on Cassie! Focus.

Cassie walked to her closet and pulled out a dark green t-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans. It was fall, so these clothes would be just right. She quickly dressed and ran down the stairs and out the door. Adam only lived a few houses down, so there was no point in taking her car. She walked to his house at a slow pace.

Did he miss me? Was he ever going to tell me he was home?

Cassie knocked on the old door. Adam opened it.

"Cassie," He smiled. He opened the door up more and stepped out.

"I missed you." He said as he gave her a hug.

"I missed you too." She said with a smile.

They stood there for a while, just hugging and listening to each others breathing and heart beats.

When they pulled apart Cassie asked something that she had been dying to ask for a long time now.

"Why do you think we're soulmates?"

Adam looked at her with a shocked expression.

"I thought the answer was simple," he stated. "We're simply meant to be. No matter what, we'll always have each other. I think we'd end up together anyway, even if we weren't soulmates."

Cassie smiled up at him and pulled him into a hug.

"That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." She said with tears in her eyes.

He smiled and tilted her chin up. Before he placed a soft kiss on her lips he whisphered, "Well you better get used to it because you belong with me. Forever."

The End.
