CHAPTER 1 - Apollodorus' New Friend
It was a hot, bustling day in the Roman forum. Apollodorus was sweating under the hot, bustling sun. Beads of sweat were forming on his bare back, reflecting light on his strong abdomen and pointed shoulderblades. Subito, a decrepit young man came up to him, already showing signs of old age despite the fact that he was not yet in old age.
"Salve, vir optime!" said the decrepit man. "Mihi nomen est Eucleides. Quid agiste hodie?"
"Bene, Eucleides, sed non vir optimus sum," said Apollodorus. "Ego fui servum, sed iam sum cauponam."
"Fortunatum es!" said Eucleides. "Adhuc sum servus!"
"Si te dominus vendet tu, emero tu," said Apollodorus, winking. Eucleides blushed.
"Esset privelegium, Apollodore," said Eucleides. Something swelled up in Apollodorus' heart before the crowd separated them.
