She's an odd little girl in first year, with dark blonde hair and light eyes, completely alone and shy with no friends. But she's a happy little thing, even if nobody can see it.
She's even odder in second year, with dark blonde hair and light eyes, still alone, but less shy, and teased entirely too often. She reads and reads and reads, anything she can get her hands on, and is top of class – but no one notices. Still, she is happy, but it is tinged with something else she can't identify.
In third year, she's still odd, with dark blonde hair and blazing light eyes, but now, she is angry. So, so angry, she can't help it, so she hides it. But now, she makes a friend. Her friend is so bright and happy and not angry, she's scared. And Ginny, with her bright hair and no angriness has made her confused but happy. But she is still far too teased for a child.
In fourth year, she's not as angry, with her dark blonde hair and burning, but light eyes, and bright, bright Ginny introduce her to people who think she's bloody crazy, but she doesn't care. Because Harry is interesting, with his dark hair and wonderful green eyes, and he's polite and doesn't call her Loony, and she can't help but think that maybe a person can have dark hair but still be bright. And when she goes into the Department of Mysteries, Harry's godfather dies, and she feels sad, because wonderful Harry deserves so much more.
In fifth year, people privately think she's odd, with her dark blonde hair and misty light eyes, and she's not teased at all, because she's friends with the Chosen One. But, she doesn't care about that, because bright, bright Ginny is gone, and in her place is this weird Ginny who talks back to Ronald and Hermione and is so superficial, and cares only about the Chosen One, not even Harry. And Dumbledore dies and it's so horrible because their might not be Hogwarts, and she feels guilty, because all she cares about is that Ginny isn't with Harry any longer.
She's not having sixth year, because she followed Harry, Hermione, and Ron, and they let her help, with much reluctance. Her hair is dark blonde, and her eyes are light, but heavy with fatigue. She so misses bright, bright Ginny who would have loved to go on this adventure, but she loves Harry so, so much.
And when the damn Horcruxes are destroyed, when the bloody war is over, when she can sleep without wishing she would never wake up, it's her seventh year, and she's just as odd as she was in her first year, with dark blonde hair and light eyes. And then, she has the hardest choice. Harry proposes, and she's torn, because she loves Harry, but what about bright, bright Ginny, who was her first friend? But then she remembers that bright, bright Ginny is gone, and her hair is dyed darker, and her eyes are charmed lighter, and she makes her choice.
On December 27, Luna Lovegood officially became Harry Potter's fiancée.
Not usually a bit Harry/Luna fan, but I love Luna, with all of her weirdness, and I was so angry about Hot Popular Girl Power!Ginny in HBP.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
