A/N: This is my first Xenosaga fic as well as one of the shortest fics I've ever wrote. Pairing: Jr.xMomo. It's called Lovesick because…you'll find out why.
She smiled at him. He smiled back, drawing closer to her. He gently caressed Momo's cheek. Her skin was so soft and just the right color. She placed her hand over his, closing her eyes.
Their faces were so close now. He leaned toward her a bit more and their lips touched. Momo's first kiss was from Jr. and she was glad it was from him.
When they broke away, she had to look into his eyes and ask, "Jr., do you love me?"
Jr. didn't know what to reply, but he did anyway. He answered the wrong way. "I love you but…you're not Sakura."
Momo gasped. Tears formed in her eyes as she ran off, around the corner where her limo was waiting. She left Jr. out in the cold. He looked up into the sky, closing his eyes. He could not cry for the drops of falling water washed them all away, making it look like he had cried a river.
He tossed and turned. Jr. couldn't sleep that night. He had lost her, his angel. He had lost Momo Mizarhi, his fiancé. She was the daughter of Juli Mizarhi, one of the Militian High Council's Highest Members and the sister of his late-girlfriend, Sakura.
Jr. reached for the ceiling as if she was there, realizing their similarities. Momo and Sakura had the same voice, same hair and same face. They share many things in common, more than he could count.
He, the heir to the Kukai Foundation was to be engaged to one of them. First, his betrothed was Sakura, who had died a few years back in a freak accident. This left Momo to take her place as his fiancé. She accepted in the place of her sister, knowing it was her duty.
"Why?" He beat himself again. Why did he say that? He had loved both of them. But who did he love more? He said the one whom had spent more time with him.
"Momo…" He whispered. Then, he knew he still loved her for who she was. She may look like his last betrothed, but she was different in many ways. He sat up at the side of his bed, stretching. Jr. glanced at the picture frame at his nightstand. There stood a moment frozen in time.
It was of himself and Momo on the beach, within the Kukai Foundation. He stared at it and knew. He loved her, but she wasn't going to come back. "I'm sorry, Momo." He breathed, guessing he was love sick.
