Author's Note: Another one from the Forum I originally put in. As the title suggests, it's just a series of snippets that have been floating in my head.
One or two of them I might expand on, no promises. The guys from the movie belong to Shane Acker. Enjoy and constructive criticism please. They're
good for the soul.

"What's it saying?"

They were standing on a gargoyle's head when the question was asked. There wasn't a hint of mocking or humouring in the question. It was genuine. 9 genuinely wants to know what the rain is saying. All the secrets of the world it carries, all wonderful and terrible. 6 wanted to tell him but looked at the darkened sky of flashing lights and loud booms sadly.

"I don't know."

It was his fault. All his fault. He failed in his purpose.

They're trapped in the Machine, all nine of them. Hopelessness and disbelief were everywhere. Hardly any of them spoke, hardly any of them moved from their spots in the darkness. It was almost suffocating in there. 9 sat away from the others as far as he could with his back facing them and arms around his knees. He couldn't bear to look at them, to see their faces, overwhelming sorrow and useless comforting words.

He was so sorry, so sorry, so sorry, so sorry - he rocked back and forth to his neverending mantra. The Machine won. At long last it won.

Then one-by-one, like the mist swept by the wind, they vanish...

They would scream if they want to but can't. The ground suddenly opened up and swallowed the twins after 7 was compelled to read aloud from the book they found. The hole closed before 7 could jump after them into a completely different realm from the Emptiness.

It was early morning here. (Which is odd since in the Emptiness it was nearing dusk.) The land below are endless green trees and if they could look farther they could see mountains in the far-off distance and a large body of water, glistening by the rising sun, an ocean, 3 recalled. It would've been a marvelous and overwhelming change from the bleak and desolate land called the Emptiness if they weren't falling over thousands upon thousands of feet above the trees. 4 was falling faster than 3 so he nose-dived after his twin sister and and was almost within armreach when a dark form appeared and snatched 4 in its' talons, screeching as it flies away

Nooooooo! He flickered in despair. His sister is out of his reach and going farther and farther away, there's nothing left for him to do than to brace himself for the impact that's about to occur...

Everything was blurred and hazy, until 7's vision cleared a little to make up the instruments dangling from the ceiling. She was confused at first to why she's in the workshop, until she somewhat remembered she had a run-in with a machine and went unconcsious when a large debris fell on her. Sensing she wasn't alone, 7 looked to her side and saw 9 beside her, sitting on a cork optics downcast on his hands but staring at nothing, she believed he must've waited a long time for her to wake up. She smiled gently and touched his arm and whispered his name. 9 looked up, relief was visible on his face as well as something else 7 noticed. He looked worried and it's making her feel anxious.

She also wondered why she can't feel her legs, they must be extremely numb or something.

2 came through the curtain, looking just as relieved, but sharing the same worrying look as 9. It's making the female even more anxious.

"7, You're awake." 2 smiled and walked over.

"What happened?"

9 answered, "the beast threw you into a pile and debris fell on top of you. 2 said it crushed your lower spine and said you won't be able to-" He stopped, but 7 was afraid of what would be said next.

"What? I wouldn't be able to do what?"

"My dear, I'm sorry," 2 continued for 9, "I tried to repair the damage, but I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to walk or run ever again."
