Author's note: So I have no idea why I wrote this story. I read over it again and it was so stupid. Ah well hope you enjoy it. Please R&R!

It was Mrs. Ketchum's favorite time of the year, Christmas. She counted off all of the things that made it spectacular for her. The smell of baking cookies always lingered around in the small town of Pallet. She loved shopping for presents and making the final decision for Christmas dinner. But what she loved most of all was that on December twenty-fifth, her son Ash, came home.

It was one of the only times of the year that Ash came home. Sometimes she wondered why she had let him wander the vast world at only ten years old. However the thought of all the cute girls Ash found on his journeys comforted her a bit. They were able to keep Ash in line.

The hardest part was planning the Christmas dinner. Sure it was fun, but she never knew who her son was going to bring home. It seemed he had a different girl each year. She wished that he would just settle down already. The older man that traveled with them though, he was a charmer.

Mrs. Ketchum decided that a mix of her son's favorite things would make for a good supper. She wrote down the menu on a piece of paper so she knew what she was shopping for.

When she got home she was surprised to see an extra pair of shoes by the door. And only one pair of shoes meant that he had come alone this year! Mrs. Ketchum was over flowing with happiness, she was finally able to spend some time alone with her baby boy!

She had Mr. Mime take the groceries to the kitchen to be put away later. She walked into the den and saw her son watching the television. She rushed at him and enveloped him into a giant hug.

"Ash I've missed you so much!" She cried overcome with happiness. "And it is so nice to see you without all of your girlfriends!"

Ash blushed," They aren't my girlfriends! They're just friends." He insisted. She smiled. Tat's what they all say. She started to put cans into the pantry.

"Is there anything you want to talk about with me?" She asked not really expecting him to have any questions. So she was surprised when he said, "Actually Mom there is something. I couldn't ask Brock because he went home to spend time with his family, and it would be way too embarrassing asking one of the girls."

Ash's mom beamed. She had always dreamt of this day. She had a whole mental speech prepared in her head. Her baby boy was finally curious about the birds and the beedrill.

She sat down at the table and motioned for him to sit down beside her. He sat down and was about to speak when she interrupted him. "Don't you worry Ash; I know what this is all about. Well when two people love each other very much, or get very drunk….." Ash looked horrified so she stopped for a minute.

And that's when Ash dropped the bombshell. "Actually mom, Brock already told me all this. About three years ago to be exact. I only wanted to know how to do the laundry!"
