Pause and Breathe

Summary: It is easy to run. But to phase and breathe? Sora, Donald, and Goofy find that impossible. But they do it together.

"Which star do you think it is your world?" Sora said as he swung his feet from back and fore from one of the roofs in Twilight Town. It gave them an awesome view of the stars even with the fading lights from the town below.
"Right there!" Goofy said as he pointed a star. It could be completely random or completely right. He had no idea but it was nice to know that it still existed.
"That isn't it! It is over there!" Donald said as he pointed to another star.
"Urk…No…that is Wonderland."
He laughed.
"No, it isn't, Goofy!"
Goofy gave him a look then scratched his head.
"You say so, Donald."
Donald gave Goofy a look that made him laugh even harder.
"Not funny, Sora," Donald said in a huff.
"Yes, it is."
"We should be out there…looking for King Mickey!" Donald said.
"We will…I just think that we need a break. I feel that we have been running around in circles," He said with a sigh. He felt something ache in his bones. He had no words for it. He glanced back up at the stars. Sometimes, how many worlds have gone out of existence because of the Heartless? How many stars have been missing from the sky? How many more will go out before they are done?
"Urgk…we haven't! We found out a lots of stuff about the Heartless and we will find your friends! We promised!" Goofy said with a grin. He couldn't help himself but smile back.
"Goofy is right. We are close. I can feel it!" Donald added.
"I know…I know. It just that…"
He felt hand on his shoulder. He glanced over his shoulder to see Goofy, giving him a smile.
"Everything will be okay. You see!"
He smiled back. A part of him wanted to believe him. He did…but another a part of him whispered in his ear saying…no, it won't be. He didn't want to tell Donald or Goofy that either. They put so much faith in him. He just couldn't.
"You're right."
"So, what are they like?" Goofy said.
"Who?"
"Rikku and Kari?"
He smiled slightly at the image of his friends.
"Well…Rikku is like Leon in a way. All bossy and you have to do this and that…Just don't tell Leon that I said that. He had a good heart, you know. He stood up for me when the bullies picked on me in school. He became my best friend. And Kari…she remembered me of Aeirth and Yuffie all in one. She can mother hen you to death if you hurt…but once you are better, she will tell you off. But yet…when things are down, she will always listen. She doesn't always agree but she will listen."
"They sound like really good friends," Donald said.
"They are the best. What is King Mickey like?"
"He is the best! When there is trouble, he is there to help out," Goofy said.
"Or trying to get us into it!" Donald added.
"He is loyal," Goofy said.
"…and stubborn!"
"and smart!"
"Funny! Urk! He told the best jokes!"
"Only you find them funny, Goofy!"
"You laugh too!"
He grinned as he watched them bicker.
"He sounds like a great guy…a great king," He said.
"The best…" Goofy said.
"We will find him too. Maybe, if we are lucky…all of them will be together," He said.
"Maybe…" Donald added.
A solemn silence fills the air between them.
"You know…I think I can see Tarzan's world from here?" Goofy said.
"Where?"
"Right there," Goofy said as he pointed to a star.
"No way! That is where Wonderland is!"
"Urk…no, that is Tazan's world!"
"Well…you are wrong."
He grinned slightly.
"I think that you are both wrong. I think that is another world that we haven't found yet," He said.
Donald gave him look that caused him to laugh…again.
It was good to take a break and just…breathe.
