Hi all, Here is a little piece that has been plaguing me. I didn't agree with the Anime Ending and so this is my version. - Please R&R.

The End or the Beginning

Manaka Junpei stood on the school roof staring out over the athletics field. All of the different sports were beginning their practice. The warm sun shone down on a beautiful spring day.

This is where it all began. He stood eyes unseeing everything around him as he dwelled in the past. It was early evening and a beautiful sunset when she had fallen on him. Tojo Aya-chan, one of his best friend's and the girl he secretly loved.

I remember thinking she could never be the girl with the strawberry panties, but now I know better. She is so cute with a hidden streak of beauty that most others don't see. He set his hands on the chain link and continued remembering. I read her manuscript and that helped me see her as she really is. How will I tell her?

His mind ran in circles as he thought about a nerve wracking confession. What if she just laughs it off? What if she just tells me that she loves another? Imagining the worst, he tried to prepare his heart, hardening it against heartbreak.

He heard the door creak behind him but paid it no attention. It wasn't until a soft hand landed on his arm that he started.

"Junpei-kun how is the idea for the Movie Club coming along?" Tojo Aya stood smiling up at him, her hazel eyes shining with curiosity.

"Well…you see, there is something else that is bothering me." He glanced around his heart slamming in his ears as he prepared to speak. "I need to tell you something and it is not easy for me. You see Nishino, well about that the thing is, never mind about that." He paused trying to pull his scattered brains together to find the words.

Aya's eyes slowly widened, "I…I think I understand. If Nishino doesn't want you working with me I can just…" The words hurt too much to continue as tears began forming in her eyes. She tried to control them and the shaking in her voice. "I'll just leave my notes…" She could handle no more and began to turn away, to leave behind the one person she loved.

Realizing that she was under the wrong impression he swiftly reached out and snagged her wrist. Pulling her slowly back around he was happy to see a surprised look on her face.

"Wait, Aya-chan I think you got the wrong idea. I wanted to tell you…well that I…that is to say…I love you."

Her eyes widened to saucers just before she flew into his embrace. Her arms slipped around his waist as her head buried in his neck.

"Junpei-kun, I love you too." The words muffled sent shivers down his spine and he could feel her warm breath tickling his skin.

He set his hands gently on her shoulders and pulled her back gently so he could look into her face. Tinged pink with a becoming blush she smiled shyly up at him. His arms snaked around her waist pulling her in close. His head dropped just enough to meet her upturned face before catching her lips in a tender kiss. When they finally pulled back both were surprised by the impact of their reactions.

"So will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" He asked the words quietly sucking in a nervous breath.

She nodded smiling up at him. "I'd like that," just before she kissed him on the cheek. "I'll be waiting for you in the Movie Club room." She walked off through the door and he took one last look out over the grounds. Smiling he headed towards the door and his future.
