Summary
When I was seventeen I thought things were going to be perfect, I thought that I would go to college, get married, then have children, boy was I wrong. You will never believe this but I was once a normal teen, with friends and boys and drama. My name is Haley and I once lived in Tree Hill, North Carolina. I was never your average girl in high school, you see I have always loved school, I was in all the advanced classes and I loved it. I had one really close friend all my life; you may know him as the bestselling author Lucas Scott but to me he is and always will be Luke the boy next door. Let me guess you're probably wondering what changed in my life, right? Well his name was Nathan and his is Luke's half brother.

My life now is so different now then how I pictured it in high school, had anybody told me then that I would end up here I would have called them a liar. Today I am a mother of three with two ex-husbands, definitely not how I pictured things. When I look back I see all the mistakes and wonder how I got here and I can finally say I know.
Ten years earlier
"Luke, why do you hate that guy so much, you don't even know him, I mean how could you he's new in town." I asked my best friend one day about half way through sophomore year.
"That's Nathan Scott, second son of Dan Scott, worst father in the universe," Was all that he said before it all clicked. Nathan was his younger half brother that their father had chosen to raise. They had just moved to Dan's hometown and now Luke Had To deal with the golden child. You see as a kid Luke would go stay with his father during the summer, only to come home wishing he had never gone. Luke had been raised by his mom and his Uncle Keith, Dan's older brother. Finally when Luke was ten his mom stopped making him go and he hadn't seen them since. Dan lived with his wife, Deb, and Nathan in Charlotte, making it easy for them to avoid seeing each other.
"Why did they have to move here and ruin my life?" Luke continued, "Just when things were going good for me too. I should have known that Dan would find a new way to make me suffer, he did it so I wouldn't play basketball…." I couldn't concentrate on what Luke was saying because I couldn't stop looking at Nathan, I mean he can't be that bad? Can he? God is he hot! I mean he is a twelve on a scale of one to ten so of course he is already dating Payton Sawyer even only having been here a week. Okay so here is the social order here at Tree Hill High Popular Payton, Her Best Friend Brooke, Bevin and the other cheer leaders the basketball team which includes Nathan(thanks to Dan's money) and Luke. Only Luke doesn't hang out with them he hangs out with the same group he always has, the kids from the River Court.
Oh My God Nathan caught me staring and is coming over, shit Lucas noticed I wasn't listening and left, stupid, stupid, stupid. Ok think what to say this is why I'm not popular.
