Naruto looked down at his wife in horror and disbelief, her blood rapidly leaving her body by way of the hole in her chest.
Oh no, please no.
"Why?" It was all he could ask, all his tormented mind could grasp at. She smiled weakly at him and slowly brought her hand up to caress his cheek.
"I-I ha-had to pr-"
Stop, please stop, don't do this, please!
"-protect my pr-prec-"
No, no, no! Don't die, don't die when I'm finally happy, please, don't do this, no!
"-precious p-pers-person."
No! Why!? Why did you have to do that, why did you have to give your life for mine!? This shouldn't have happened, it shouldn't have HAPPENED!!
"I l-love you Nar-Naruto, always h-have." Naruto felt the tears running down his cheeks but he didn't care, he could only stare at his wife who was looking at him with nothing but love in her green eyes.
"Please don't die, I can't live without you Sakura." She smiled again, and her hand dropped to her side, she no longer had the energy to keep it up.
"Baka, of co-course you can. P-please, do it….for m-me." And then the life left her, she stared at him with glassy eyes that held no life, no more love. He pink hair was matted with blood, her body floating in a pool of her own life.
No! Oh please no!
Naruto shook her, trying to get her to wake up, to stop playing such a terrible trick on him.
"Sakura! Sakura-chan! Please wake up, please…please…please." But it was too late and the one woman he had always loved, the one woman who always made him smile, the pink haired love of his life was no more.
Naruto just sat there for a while and then looked up, his eyes dead. He looked up at her murderer, the man she had once loved, the man that had killed her so effortlessly, the one who had ripped a hole in her chest with his own hands.
Uchiha Sasuke.
Sasuke was staring at Sakura's now dead body with something akin to shock and dismay, he eventually looked at Naruto, his mouth struggling to form his words.
"I didn't…I couldn't…she…I…" Naruto just stared at him, he couldn't make his body move, couldn't make words form, he could only stare as Sasuke tried to explain.
Tried to explain hat he hadn't been aiming for Sakura, tried to explain that she had jumped in his path, his path to hit Naruto. Naruto found it oddly humorous that Sasuke could look so horrified at himself for killing Sakura when he had been more than ready to kill Naruto.
"Naruto…I didn't, I mean, she jumped, and…" Naruto just continued to stare at him, his hand gently running through Sakura's pink hair dyed crimson, he couldn't let her go even though she was already gone.
Torn from him by his best friend.
How the world must mock him.
Sasuke grabbed his hair, and agonized growl coming from him, and suddenly he took off, running away from what he had done. Naruto couldn't find the energy to take chase, all he could do was stare down at Sakura, at the small smile that still graced her porcelain face, even in death.
She was still perfect, still beautiful, but she was missing her warmth, missing her life, she was gone and despite all of Naruto's power he couldn't bring her back.
Alone, all alone again.
Please wait for me Sakura.
Okay, so this was at least slightly depressing but the idea just came to me so I had to write it. Reviews are most welcome, thanks for reading!
