I don't really have a reason for writing this, so let's just call it a late V-Day fic.
Yes, I know the summary is weird. It's just the first stream of thought that popped into my head then.
Oh, and I don't own Naruto. Just to let you know.
The cold nipped at her cheeks, although it was as sunny as a summer's day out. Winter could be so strange sometimes. Hinata rubbed her gloved hands together before holding her cheeks in them in a vain attempt to warm her unprotected face. The girl wasn't used to weather like this. Any cold weather, really. Konoha was always such a warm place, at least weather-wise. As for some of the people in it…well, that was a different story.
She crossed her arms tightly against her body and quickened her pace just a bit. Her pale eyes had spotted a tuft of bright blonde hair escaping around the corner, and she felt her cheeks instantly warm because of it. She only hoped the warmth she felt on the inside wasn't visible from the outside.
"Naru-oof!" Hinata rounded the corner and ran straight into the very person she was chasing. She rubbed her nose, sore from the impact, and took a few steps back before looking up at blonde boy. "N-Naruto, how are you?"
The boy jumped from the collision, surprised, but quickly snapped to his senses, flashing a grin that could only come from him. "Hinata! Just the person I was looking for!" He put a hand inside his brown jacket and searched through a couple pockets, apparently looking for something. Hinata fiddled with the hem of her warm blue jacket as he searched, noting that not even Naruto went without a jacket in this weather. After a few moments of searching he let out a sudden "Aha!" that made Hinata jump and grinned even wider.
"Close your eyes."
"Wha-"
"Just do it!"
The girl complied, her eyes closing obediently. She could tell that he still had the same goofy expression and soon a fragrant smell filled her senses.
"Okay, now open your eyes!"
She did as told, and was met with a red rose thrust in front of her face. Her pale eyes flipped from the rose to his lit up expression and back to the rose, eyes widening as she let out an "Ohhh…" of realization. The boy gave a sheepish grin.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Hinata."
Yaaaaaaayyy. :3
So. I'm ignoring my term paper. Which is bad. But good, because it produced this, and now I won't be distracted.
Hopefully.
I hope you enjoyed it.
